Becoming a physician is a tremendous yolk carried through an uphill path— the daily grind as a medical student, constant piling of requirement upon requirement, the grueling task of studying & completing endless examinations & assessments, the uncertainties as a clinical clerk, the trials & tribulations as a postgraduate intern, the preparation through anticipation & anxiety for the licensure exam; these are but a few of the challenges within the spectrum of the journey toward the dream of attaining those two letters at the end of your name.
But you are defiant in the face of adversity. You are perseverant. You are brave. You had set it upon yourself to carry such a yolk, and had conquered the trials to become who & what you are today. It is no longer a question whether you are ready for the world, but a question of whether the world is ready for you.
When you are called to a profession whose ultimate goal is to create a holistically healthy community, thereby abolishing the necessity for the existence of such a profession, you are called to bravery. Congratulations to the newest additions to the Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation’s roster of excellence!

You would not take “no” for an answer. You’ve made it because you had not lost sight of your goal and not played deaf to your calling. You dared to dream amidst your lack of sleep. You chose to make that sleep-deprived dream a reality.

You answered the call. You took the challenge. You paid in blood, sweat, and tears— far more than any coin of gold or silver could ever afford. You have earned it. You have made it. Your life is the product of what you believe, and we are so damn proud of you for being brave enough to never stop believing in yourself.
