I’m okay!

I just wanted to review the CCTV because a cat sneaked into our waiting areas, but when I watched it, it got me thinking.

Even when my ADHD has been a conflict of impulsivity and indecision throughout my life, the strategies I’ve developed have been keeping me afloat.

There is no other point to this video, but to share that there have been times in my childhood when I was struggling, wondering why things just felt SO HARD for me, and it didn’t seem that way for everyone else; and asking WHY?! What is the point of my life?

And now every day, I help kids who have a hard time, and I get to show them the strategies that worked for me, and other techniques that I’ve learned (even the ones that don’t work for ME, because everyone is different). It’s still hard, but I’m thankful for the opportunity to make these children feel that they’re not alone. Not “stupid.” Not “lazy.” Not “too much.”

So yeah, BE the Cat of Prosperity. Pay it forward, always. ✨

P.S. Parents: kung may hinala kayo sa anak niyo, at may resources naman kayo — get that assessment. I wish I’d gotten mine earlier.

“Wala pa siyang nasasabing words” ang isa sa pinaka-madalas kong naririnig when I 1st talk to a parent or guardian. Paminsan, totoo — wala pa talaga, o kaya may babbling sounds.

Pero paminsan din, habang tumatagal ang interview, meron naman pala! Hindi lang nila alam na “word” na pala yun.

Nudges from the ✨Divine✨

Last night, my singing group performed at a grand anniversary of a school with multiple campuses around the country, and

1. I met the parents of a teenager I’d been supporting online for 3 years, for the first time in person, and

2. I connected with a primary school teacher who had been my follower since the pandemic, when this all started.

Medyo marami kasing nagtatanong kung bakit hindi na ako kasing active tulad ng dati, and maliban sa on and off na impostor’s syndrome, *time* po talaga. Habang kasi may lakas pa ako, kumikitang kabuhayan din muna…

but that’s why may impact sakin yung mga nakilala ko kagabi kasi ang sarap ding ma-remind na yung work and content ko ay may impact nga pala sa iba.

Sometimes it can feel foolish for me to spend hours working on *just the right explanation* na I hope maiintindihan ng karamihan, about scientific concepts, then I talk to a camera and then edit and post, like minsan iniisip ko “paulit-ulit nalang ba ako?”

Then there are people out there like these, who went out of their way to reach out to tell me that my work makes a difference.

So eeffort nanaman ako 🤣 kasi there is always a new batch of parents out there who may need this information. Nagkwento lang ng mahaba to say I appreciate you ✨ thanks for being here and for searching for answers and facts and caring enough to learn how to support others.

Binubuhay ko itong post na ito kasi may mga nakita nanaman akong gumagamit ng similar titles like “Speech Language SPECIALIST” and “Pediatric Neuropsych” but without an MD, with a LOOOOONG list of suffixes that seem intended to really deceive the public. (Like kulang nalang QRST, UVWX, YZ??)

Maging mapanuri mga kababayan ko. Maraming may masasamang intensyon para lang kumita ng pera, meron ding mabuti naman ang intensyon, pero ang katotohanan — kung gusto niyong maging sigurado sa serbisyong matatanggap, dun na po kayo sa may lisensya. Mapangangatawanan pa sa batas.
