Last May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM held at the 2nd floor University Cafeteria, the Biology Department successfully celebrated Biology Recognition Day 2026, a heartfelt gathering dedicated to honoring excellence, growth, and the unforgettable journey of every Biology student. 💚🧬

The celebration became even more meaningful through the inspiring messages shared by CMT Dean Rona Maye Trinidad, CASE Dean Serena Gomez, and our Department Head, Mr. Emerson Cruz, who reminded everyone of the values, perseverance, and passion that continue to shape the Biology community.

Students from all year levels were recognized not only for their academic excellence as Dean’s Listers, but also for their outstanding laboratory skills, creativity, leadership, dedication, and unique contributions beyond the classroom. The event highlighted that success in Biology is not measured by grades alone, but also by character, resilience, and service.

One of the most emotional moments of the program was the send-off for the graduating students, who proudly took their pledge to uphold the character, integrity, and excellence of the Biology Department as they move forward into new journeys. 🎓✨

The audience also relived precious memories through presentations showcasing each year's level's experiences, from ecotours, laboratory activities, academic challenges, friendships, and the simple moments that made student life meaningful and unforgettable.

Filled with intermission number, raffle prizes, shared laughter, an early dinner, and heartfelt memories, Biology Recognition Day 2026 became more than just an awarding ceremony, it became a celebration of every student’s journey, growth, and success as one Biology family. 🌸

As one semester closes, another journey begins. The Biology Department will continue to nurture future scientists, leaders, and changemakers who embody excellence, compassion, and resilience. Thank you for being part of this memorable celebration, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next semester for more discoveries, experiences, and growth together. 💚🌿

🌟 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 🌟

Last May 19, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the TUA Chapel, our BS Biology students gathered for a meaningful recollection activity. This spiritual engagement provided a sacred space for our future biologists to reflect on their academic and personal growth, honoring their humble beginnings, celebrated discoveries, and the resilience shown through every challenge and accomplishment.

With the University Chaplaincy, the Biology Department continues to nurture well-rounded Trinitian scientists who are guided by faith and purpose as they look toward their future aspirations. 🧬✨

Through the activity “My North Star,” facilitated by Ma’am Geraldine Cruzado and Fr. Dexter Tad-Awan, students reflected on the experiences that shaped them and identified the goals and purpose that continue to guide them in life.

The second activity on Group Dynamics, facilitated by Sir Glenn Agbing, focused on transforming reflection into action by encouraging students to share their gratitude to the university, the experiences that shaped them as Trinitians, and how they can positively contribute to society beyond the classroom.

The recollection became a meaningful reminder that being a biologist is not only about science, but also about purpose, service, leadership, and becoming instruments of positive change for the community. 🧫✨

Through activities like this, the department continues to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by promoting quality education, well-being, and responsible citizenship for future scientists and leaders. 🌍

Last May 4, 2026 at 1:00PM to 6:00 PM, our Senior Biology students successfully completed their oral defense. The Biology Department proudly celebrates our undergraduate researchers for their successful thesis defenses! Your unwavering dedication, resilience, and passion for scientific inquiry have resulted in impactful research contributions that highlight the diverse expertise and interdisciplinary strength of the Biology program. 🔬

From microbiology and molecular biology to environmental science, agriculture, biotechnology, and public health, our students continue to demonstrate that Biology is a dynamic and multifaceted field capable of addressing real-world scientific challenges.

Last March 7, 2026, the Biology Department and Society of Life Sciences Students (BS Biology - SOLSS) of the College of Medical Technology proudly participated in the TUA Community Day held at the University Gymnasium as part of its continuing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

Under the theme of 🌍 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, the department organized a fun Memory Game for our partner communities and distributed eco-friendly prizes such as reusable straws, wooden spoons and forks, and pencil seeds. The department also donated pre-loved clothes to promote sustainability, generosity, and environmental consciousness.

During the 63rd Founding Anniversary celebration of Trinity University of Asia, the Biology Department proudly participated in The 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 held at the Student Services Center.

The team spotlighted 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺, from producing vaccines and medical compounds to supporting agriculture and environmental applications. A major highlight was the 𝓜𝓲𝓷𝓲𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓼 𝓑𝓲𝓸𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓸𝓻, a research-grade system housed in the TUA that strengthens innovation and hands-on biotechnology training.

The presentation also featured a conducted study on 𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘢 𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘷𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳, by Dr. Anacleto M. Argayosa, an initiative promoting healthier aquaculture, reduced antibiotic use, and improved food security.

Through biotechnology innovation and sustainable research, the Biology Department continues to contribute to better health, quality education, food security, scientific innovation, and sustainable aquatic practices, reflecting the university’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for a healthier and more sustainable future.
