Almost 13 years ago, I had a simple goal in life.

To augment the family's income.

With 3 teenage children (noon, kasi married na sila lahat ngayon), the meager salary I had as a private school teacher combined with the earnings from our small car wash business were not enough.

Eh nabalitaan ko sa hipag ko yung about online jobs. So sige, io-try ko, db? Why not, coconut? 😄

Nakagawa ako ng portfolio sa Upwork as a writer. After 7 months yata before ako napansin ng client. Uy, ang offer sa akin, $1/hour!

Kung ang sahod mo ay Php10k to Php12k a month, ang laking bagay na nung additional income na yun, di ba???

Tapos, as time went on, nakapgcharge na ako ng $2, $3, hanggang naging $15/hour. Ang saya ko na nun!

Yun nga lang, madalas akong magkasakit dahil sa burnout. Tas to fight off sleepiness, kain ako ng kain ng junk foods at inom ng soda. Resulta? Diabetes Type 2, huhuhu.

Buti na lang talaga, I learned a different kind of freelancing.

Yung pwede kang mag-charge according sa gusto mo. Pwedeng $25/hour, or several figures more pag per project.

As a result...

✅Nagkaron ng time sa family

✅Nakapag-dp sa house
✅Almost paid na ang aming car

If you’ll ask me what helped me the most in my freelancing journey…

It’s having access to people na mas magaling at mas may experience sakin, kahit na mas bata pa sila sa akin.

Sometimes kasi, we can’t seem to figure out things on our own. We sometimes need verification from others, especially when we’re unsure of the tasks at hand.

Ilang beses ko ng hinila sa Zoom call si John Pagulayan para bigyan ako ng advice regarding BUBOTS, yung children’s writing course ko.

When I was starting sa online freelancing, nalula ako sa dami ng options na pwede pala i-offer.

Merong Graphic design, FB ads, Social Media Management, Copywriting, Online Business Management… the list just goes on and on and on!

When I have an idea for a short course, my brain works overtime, lols!

Kaya I write it agad or use a mind map. Otherwise, naglalahong parang bula!

Abangan nyo ang next short course ng Bubots Writing and Tutorial Services. It has something to do with research and report writing. Para yung students, matuto talagang gumawa. :) :) :)

Lahat tayo may alam na skills we can offer online, basta may commputer ka at internet connection.

Pag maalam ka or may experience sa sales, pwede kang telemarketer or online sales representative.

Kung marunong kang magsulat, copywriting, content writing, email mmarketing are good options. pwede ka ring agsulat ng landing page copies.

Kung artistic ka naman, pwede kang mag-offer ng graphic or web design.

And lahat yang skills na yan, you can even enhance while working with a client. May clients pa nga who are willing to invest para ka mag-aral ng skill na magagamit nyo sa business nila.

Parang ako, kaya ako natuto ng SEO copywriting noon, kasi pinag-aral ako ng client ko. The rest of the skills I have right now, I learned through research or from online courses I enrolled in.

Eh ang tanong - saan ka ba magandang makakuha ng client???

Kasi, kahit may skill ka, kung wala ka namang client, waley rin.
