The recent incidents of school-related violence are deeply concerning.

At NEXT, they remind us why the work of building strong foundations in our young people matters.

🏹 𝐀 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫.

Rapha Eliel Velasquez, together with Coach Gibby Velasquez, officially begins the 2026–2027 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 with the World Archery Philippines (WAP) Philippine Archery Championships – Open and Youth in Davao City, happening August 19–23, 2026.

Rapha will carry the colors of the CPU-Golden Lions Archery Team, competing in both the 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝟐𝟎 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

Their journey south begins today, with a first stop at the Velasquez family home in Polomolok, South Cotabato, before heading to Davao City. 🏹💙💛

This tournament is Leg 3 of the four-leg WAP Philippine Archery Championships qualifying circuit. Archers must compete in at least two of the four legs and finish among the Top 10 overall to remain in contention for the Philippine National Team.

As Rapha takes another step forward in his journey, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 who helped provide the resources that made his participation possible.
