We are excited to welcome 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗣. 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮 as the new General Education Center (GEC) Diliman Director!

A faculty member of the Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts, College of Arts and Letters, UP Diliman, he began his teaching career handling the GE course Communication 3: Practical Speech Fundamentals. He currently teaches Speech 30: Public Speaking and Persuasion, along with courses on political rhetoric, rhetorical theories and methods, and qualitative methods in speech communication research.

His research engages the intersections of communication, rhetoric, identity, and politics. He has taken on several roles within the DSCTA and the University, and most recently served as GEC’s Program Development Associate before taking on this new role.

As it celebrates its tenth anniversary, the General Education Center proudly presents the third iteration of LINANGAN: The GE Faculty Development Extension Program 2026–2027, a webinar series that explores the role of GE as a vital foundation for students’ learning, character formation, and active citizenship. Featuring engaging discussions and meaningful conversations with GE faculty members from UP Diliman, the webinar runs from August 2026 to May 2027.

LINANGAN continues to be an avenue to appreciate and reflect on the important role that GE plays in shaping well-rounded individuals and engaged citizens. Follow us and stay tuned for more updates!
