Fellowship Consortium on Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery

During the PCS Midyear Convention in Clark, Pampanga, last May 16, 2026, the FoCALS participated in the 1st Gastric Sleeve Certifying Workshop organized by the Philippine Association of Metabolic and Obesity Surgery. We remain committed to mastering the latest standards in bariatric care.

Our fellows represented the institution at the 21st World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery & 17th Asia-Pacific Congress of ELSA in Singapore last November 4–8, 2025. Their paper presentations highlighted our commitment to advancing endo-laparoscopic techniques on a global stage.

Today marks the 10th founding anniversary of the Fellowship Consortium on Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery!

For the past 10 years, FoCALS has dedicated its efforts to furthering the principles of laparoscopic surgery and its practices. Whilst considerable growth has been achieved in this field, the consortium has been a leader in the advances delivered in the field.

The milestone of our 10th anniversary forms a basis to reflect upon the many success stories and its commitment to medical education and research.
