THE RISE OF NEW CHAMPIONS: When Faith, Unity, and Courage Made History
A new chapter has been written in the history of Bestlink College of the Philippines.

The entire BCP community celebrates with immense pride as the BCP Kalasag Senior Men’s Basketball Team emerged as the new champions of the NCRAA Season 32 Basketball League. In a thrilling championship battle, BCP Kalasag dethroned the mighty ICC Blue Hawk, a team that had ruled the league for three consecutive years. With a breathtaking final score of 80–78, BCP Kalasag brought home the championship trophy and ushered in a new era of greatness.
Adding to this historic triumph, Rod Lebron Anfernee S. Quirog was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), while Jerich Elijah Felipe earned the prestigious Best Coach of the Season award.

But this victory is far more than a championship title.

June 15 will forever be remembered not only as the day BCP Kalasag won a championship, but as the day every member of the BCP family shared in a victory that inspired an entire community.

To our athletes, coaches, staff, supporters, and everyone who stood behind every battle—this triumph belongs to all of us.

Congratulations, BCP Kalasag!
Congratulations, BCP Community!

Today, champions were not merely crowned—they were born.

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY! 🙏🏆💙💛

FROM UNDERDOGS TO CONTENDERS: BCP KALASAG, ONE WIN AWAY FROM HISTORY
"Hindi pa ito ang wakas ng kwento... ito pa lamang ang simula ng isang alamat."

The second game of the NCRAA Season 32 Finals began with both teams carrying one goal in their hearts—to win.

For BCP Kalasag, victory meant more than just another triumph. It would be the biggest achievement in the team's history. A win would allow them to dethrone the reigning champions, the ICC Blue Hawks, who have dominated the NCRAA for three consecutive years and established a dynasty on the court.

The opening moments of the game were intense and highly competitive. At the end of the first quarter, BCP Kalasag held a commanding lead against the ICC Blue Hawks, 23–11.

As the second quarter unfolded, the battle grew even fiercer. Every possession mattered, every basket was contested, and neither team was willing to surrender. Despite the relentless effort of the Blue Hawks, BCP Kalasag maintained its advantage and entered halftime with a 39–30 lead.

The third quarter became a true test of character. The defending champions fought back with determination, closing the gap and eventually turning the game into a thrilling back-and-forth battle. The lead changed hands several times as both teams displayed extraordinary skill, courage, and heart.

When the final buzzer sounded, the scoreboard showed 71–69 in favor of the ICC Blue Hawks. It was a heartbreaking defeat for BCP Kalasag, but it also set the stage for an epic winner-take-all Game 3.

From humble beginnings five years ago, BCP Kalasag has risen through grit, sacrifice, and determination. What once seemed impossible is now within reach—a chance to claim their first-ever NCRAA championship and make history.

Yet despite the challenge before them, the determination of BCP Kalasag remains stronger than ever. The players are united by a common dream—to bring home the first NCRAA championship in team history.

As they prepare for the decisive third and final game, every member of the team carries the same belief in their hearts: that the era of the ICC Blue Hawks can come to an end, and that a new champion can rise.

This is no longer just a dream.

It is a symbol of transformation.

It is proof that every sacrifice has a reward. "Hindi tayo narito para lamang lumaban. Narito tayo para patunayan na ang mga pangarap ay naaabot ng mga taong hindi sumusuko."

As BCP Kalasag prepares for the most important game in its history, the entire BCP Community stands united behind the team. Students, alumni, faculty members, administrators, staff, families, and supporters are all rallying with one heart and one belief—that BCP Kalasag has what it takes to make history.

More than a team, they have become a symbol of hope, determination, and excellence for the entire institution. Regardless of the outcome, they have already made the BCP Community proud. But now, with one final game remaining, an entire community believes that this is their moment.

The BCP Community stands with you, believes in you, and proudly marches with you toward your dream of becoming NCRAA Season 32 Champions.

Because your dream is now our dream.

Your fight is now our fight.

And your victory will be the victory of every member of the BCP family.

LABAN, BCP KALASAG!

ANG KASAYSAYAN AY NAGHIHINTAY NA MAISULAT AT MAGING GABAY SA PAG-ABOT NG BAWAT PANGARAP!

We have already met the head coach of BCP KALASAG—the man who helped transform a dream into a historic journey. But behind every victory, every milestone, and every unforgettable moment on the court are the players who chose to fight, sacrifice, and believe in something bigger than themselves.

Today, let us get to know the men behind the jerseys. Let us put faces and stories behind every name that proudly represents BCP KALASAG every time they step onto the court. Beyond the highlights, the statistics, and the wins are personal journeys filled with struggles, sacrifices, and dreams waiting to be fulfilled.

For many of these athletes, the road to success was never easy. Some came from faraway provinces, leaving behind their families and the comfort of home to pursue opportunities in Manila. They endured homesickness, financial challenges, physical exhaustion, and countless hours of training—all fueled by one goal: to become champions and make their families proud.

Every drop of sweat, every sacrifice, and every setback became part of their journey toward greatness.

They are more than just basketball players. They are dreamers, fighters, and warriors carrying the hopes of their families and the pride of the BCP community. Every time they wear the KALASAG jersey, they are not only playing for themselves—they are playing for every student, every supporter, and every person who believes in what this team stands for.

Their stories deserve to be told. Their sacrifices deserve to be recognized. And their journey deserves to be celebrated.

These are the warriors who continue to raise the banner of Bestlink College of the Philippines with pride, courage, and unwavering determination.

This is BCP KALASAG.

This is their story.

And this is only the beginning.

Meet the Warriors of BCP KALASAG!

From Vision to Victory: The Inspiring Journey of Coach Jerich and the Rise of BCP Kalasag

Two years ago, BCP Kalasag entered a new chapter in its basketball journey. As the management of Bestlink College of the Philippines, led by Dr. Ryan Ignacio, Team Manager of BCP Kalasag, and Engr. Doni Lleno, Vice President for Administration and Finance and Sports Director, searched for a coach who could help strengthen and elevate the program, they carefully reviewed numerous candidates. The qualifications were strict, and the selection process was thorough.

Through the recommendation of Coach Roderick Santos, one of the pioneers in managing BCP’s sports facilities and the coach of the BCP Volleyball Team, they were introduced to a young and promising coach who was then serving as an assistant coach at Lyceum of the Philippines University—Coach Jerich Elijah Felipe. Upon meeting, both parties immediately discovered a shared vision: to develop a competitive team, build a strong basketball culture, and bring greater pride to the BCP community.

In November 2024, the agreement was finalized, and at just 29 years old, Coach Jerich officially became the new head coach of BCP Kalasag. Accompanied by his trusted assistant coaches, Coach Louis Bontia, his former college teammate, and Coach Neil Titus Carpio, a longtime colleague and teammate in various competitions, Coach Jerich began laying the foundation for what would become a remarkable journey.

With the coaching staff in place, the next challenge was assembling a team. Since many of the previous players had already graduated, the coaching staff embarked on an extensive recruitment and scouting campaign. They traveled, evaluated talent, and presented a vision that went beyond basketball—a vision of growth, opportunity, and belonging. Their efforts attracted talented student-athletes from different parts of the country, including Bukidnon, Aklan, Iloilo, Surigao, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, and many other provinces. One by one, the future warriors of BCP Kalasag were formed.

From the very beginning, the team shared one common goal—to elevate the name of BCP Kalasag and make it a respected force in the NCRAA. Training sessions became more intense, the players embraced discipline, and everyone committed themselves to a culture of excellence. The countless hours spent in practice, the sacrifices made away from home, and the unwavering dedication of both players and coaches slowly transformed the team into a competitive and determined unit.

The hard work soon paid off. In a historic achievement, BCP Kalasag reached the semifinals and secured the 2nd Runner-Up position. While the championship remained ahead, the accomplishment served as proof that the team's vision was becoming a reality. It strengthened their belief that greater achievements were still within reach. As they often reminded themselves, “Pwede pa! Kaya pa!”

Motivated by this success, the team raised its standards even higher. Practices became more demanding, discipline became stricter, and every member of the program worked harder than ever. The journey was not without challenges. Limited opportunities for tune-up games and the need to share facilities with various school activities tested the team's resilience. Yet despite these obstacles, they never lost sight of their goal.

Supported by dedicated sponsors, guided by the unwavering leadership of Dr. Ryan Ignacio and Engr. Doni Lleno, and fueled by the determination of every player and coach, BCP Kalasag entered Season 32 of the NCRAA with renewed confidence and purpose. They competed against some of the league's most established and respected colleges and universities, continuously proving that they belonged among the best.

Today, after years of perseverance, sacrifice, and relentless commitment, BCP Kalasag proudly stands on the biggest stage of the NCRAA. After battling through multiple seasons and overcoming every challenge that came their way, they have earned a place in the NCRAA Finals, where they will face the three-time defending champions, the ICC Blue Hawks. More importantly, they have already achieved something truly special—they have united and inspired the entire BCP community.

For Coach Jerich, this moment is more than just reaching the Finals—it is the fulfillment of a promise, the result of countless sacrifices, sleepless nights, and unwavering faith in a dream that many thought was impossible.

BCP KALASAG DRAWS FIRST BLOOD IN NCRAA FINALS, MOVES ONE WIN AWAY FROM THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The month of June opened with a historic triumph for the BCP Community as BCP Kalasag secured a commanding 104-88 victory over the ICC Blue Hawks in Game 1 of the 32nd NCRAA Finals held on June 1, 2026, at the Nova Deci Basketball Court.

Despite heavy rains pouring across different parts of Caloocan and Quezon City, the unfavorable weather failed to dampen the spirit, determination, and fighting heart of the BCP Kalasag squad. Focused on their mission and driven by their desire to bring glory to the institution, the team entered the court ready to battle for the crucial opening game of the championship series.

From the early hours of the morning, supporters of BCP Kalasag were already preparing to rally behind their team. Confidence and optimism filled the air as students, alumni, faculty members, and loyal supporters believed that the team could overcome one of the league's most dominant programs.

Facing the ICC Blue Hawks—a team that has ruled the NCRAA for three consecutive seasons as defending champions—was no easy task. However, BCP Kalasag refused to be intimidated. Under the leadership of Head Coach Jerich Elijah Felipe, together with Assistant Coaches Neil Titus Carpio and Acie Louis Bontia, the team entered the finals with unwavering confidence and a clear goal: TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND END ICC'S REIGN.

The players also drew inspiration from the unwavering support of Engr. Doni Lleno, Dr. Ryan M. Ignacio, and the entire BCP community. Armed with courage, discipline, determination, and faith in one another, the team arrived at the venue fully prepared to leave everything on the court.

The atmosphere became even more electrifying with the arrival of volunteer supporters from the Supreme Student Council (SSC), Talent Center, and the Starmodel Dancers, who transformed the venue into a sea of energy and school pride through their passionate cheers and unwavering support.

From the opening tip-off until the final buzzer, BCP Kalasag remained in control of the game. The Blue Hawks attempted several comeback runs, but the Kalasag defense stood firm while the offense continued to deliver timely baskets. Every quarter showcased the team's discipline, teamwork, and determination to protect their lead.

One of the biggest highlights of the game came from Player #27, Victor Ryan Nuarin, who caught fire from beyond the arc and rained down crucial three-point shots that energized both his teammates and the crowd. His outstanding performance earned him the well-deserved Best Player of the Game honors.

With this important victory, BCP Kalasag now takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three championship series. More importantly, the team is now just one win away from capturing the 32nd NCRAA Championship and bringing home the basketball crown that the BCP Community has long dreamed of achieving.

The journey, however, is not yet over.

The next chapter of this championship battle will take place on June 8, 2026, at the Nova Deci Basketball Court, where BCP Kalasag will once again face the ICC Blue Hawks in a crucial Game 2. A victory will officially crown BCP Kalasag as the 32nd NCRAA Champions and end the three-season championship reign of ICC.

The entire BCP Community is encouraged to continue showing its unwavering support and fill the venue with the same energy, pride, and passion that fueled the team in Game 1. Every cheer, every chant, and every voice will matter as the Kalasag Warriors fight for history.

One more victory is all that stands between BCP Kalasag and the championship.

One more win to end a dynasty.

One more win to bring the crown home to BCP.

The battle continues—but the Shield of BCP has struck first.
