Today, we honor the life and sacrifice of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. His story reminds us that true patriotism is not only found in grand acts of courage, but also in the everyday choice to stand for what is right.

To the youth, may Ninoy’s legacy inspire us to inculcate and live out the values of courage, integrity, selflessness, responsibility, and love for our country. Let us use our voices wisely, uphold truth, respect others, and serve our community with compassion.

We may be young, but we have the power to shape the future of our nation. May we not simply remember Ninoy’s sacrifice; may we carry forward the values he stood for and become responsible citizens who make a difference. 🇵🇭

Please be informed that Face-to-Face Classes are suspended tomorrow, August 19, 2026, pursuant to Malacañang Memorandum Circular No. 129, which directs the implementation of alternative learning modes in La Union and other affected areas due to the continuing inclement weather brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

📚 Alternative Learning Modalities will be implemented.

We encourage everyone to remain safe, stay updated through official announcements, and avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas affected by heavy rains and flooding.

Today's gospel is about faith, perseverance, and trust in God. The Canaanite woman who came to Jesus pleading to heal her daughter continued asking for her daughter to be healed in spite of having difficulties on her way. She persisted in coming to Jesus and continued to put her trust in him.

Sometimes in our lives we too face similar situations where our prayers seem unanswered. During such situations, we may be discouraged as things do not turn out the way we expect. At times, we may wonder if God heard our prayers or if he is listening to us at all. But, faith in God involves having patience until you get the answer from God.

We are the children of God and in such situations, we are expected to be patient and persevere. Difficulties can make us feel helpless, but prayers tell us that we are not alone. God is aware of our troubles and he understands us as well and provides us with strength in those situations.

The faith of the Canaanite woman teaches us never to despair. Her persistence in coming back to Jesus tells us that true faith does not give up so easily. When life becomes difficult, we should continue praying, trusting, and believing that God has a purpose and will guide us in the right time.
