PCS Successfully Conducts the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

Preparedness saves lives. Pugo Central School (PCS) successfully conducted the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and resilience of every learner and personnel in times of disaster.

Equipped with essential emergency supplies, each learner carried a Go Bag containing a flashlight, whistle, drinking water, biscuits, and basic first-aid materials, while wearing a hard hat for added protection. Teachers were likewise provided with first-aid kits to enable them to promptly respond to and assist injured individuals during emergencies.

The success of this activity was made possible through the invaluable support of the Local Government Unit of Pugo under the leadership of Mayor Geralyn Garcia Bulao, who mobilized personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) to assist and oversee the drill.

Following the activity, a post-drill conference was conducted wherein representatives from the participating agencies commended the school's excellent level of preparedness. They highlighted the remarkable one-to-one provision of disaster preparedness equipment for learners—the first initiative of its kind in the Municipality of Pugo. The agencies also shared observations and recommendations aimed at further strengthening the school's disaster response mechanisms, all of which were warmly received and duly noted.

The activity was further enriched through the active participation of PTA officers, parents, and all stakeholders present within the school vicinity, reflecting a collective commitment to fostering a culture of safety and preparedness.

On behalf of Pugo Central School, under the leadership of Dr. Rhea Flores, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our local government partners, emergency response agencies, parents, and community stakeholders for their swift response and steadfast support. While we fervently hope that disasters will never occur, we remain vigilant, prepared, and resilient—ready to protect every Batang PCS when it matters most.

Prepared, Protected, and Empowered: Batang PCS Takes Disaster Readiness to the Next Level

At Pugo Central School, safety is not just a priority—it is a commitment. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Rhea Flores ,our Batang PCS are now fully equipped and disaster-ready through the school's strengthened Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) program.

Each learner has been provided with essential protective gear, including hard hats, while classrooms are equipped with first aid kits and emergency supplies. To further enhance preparedness, Dr. Flores generously provided GO Bags containing vital emergency materials that can be used during unexpected situations and disasters.

This remarkable initiative was made possible through the unwavering support and cooperation of our dedicated PTA Officers and supportive parents, whose sincere contributions helped procure hard hats, flashlights, and whistles for our learners. Their collective effort reflects a shared vision of creating a safer and more resilient school community.

While we hope that disasters never come our way, preparation remains our strongest defense. By equipping our learners with the right knowledge, tools, and mindset, we empower them to respond confidently and responsibly in times of emergency.

Because disasters may be unpredictable, preparedness is a choice—and at Pugo Central School, we choose to be ready, resilient, and one step ahead.
