Empowering Tomorrowβs Scientists: Provincial Government of La Union Distributes Stipends to STE Learners at Pugo Central NHS
In a significant step toward fostering academic excellence and supporting the next generation of scientific leaders, the Provincial Government of La Union led the formal Distribution of STE Learnersβ Stipend at Pugo Central National High School (PCNHS).
The event gathered students and teachers to celebrate the dedication of learners enrolled in the specialized Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) program.
The program commenced with a solemn opening that highlighted local pride and identity. Following a short prayer, the venue filled with the harmonious voices of attendees singing the La Union Hymn, the PUGO Hymn, and the PCNHS Hymn, underscoring a shared community commitment to youth development.
Mr. Santiago L. Boado, Head Teacher III and OIC Office of the Principal, formally opened the ceremony. In his welcome remarks, Boado emphasized the critical role that financial and institutional support plays in keeping students motivated and equipped for rigorous academic paths.
A central highlight of the event was an inspiring message from Provincial Governor, Hon. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, MDA through Sir Denver Badua, Executive Assistant to the Governor, which focused on human development and progressive education, the Governorβs address reiterated the provincial administration's active mandate to invest heavily in the youth of La Union. Mr. Badua challenged the student-beneficiaries to maximize their potential and apply their scientific education toward the future development of the province of La Union.
The ceremony reached its peak with the actual Distribution of Stipends, providing tangible assistance to the student-scholars to aid their research projects, educational materials, and daily schooling needs.
Expressing the collective sentiment of the student body, Zofia Eowyn G. Bautista, a Grade 10 STE Learner, delivered the Words of Gratitude. Bautista thanked the provincial government, school administrators, and parents for their unwavering belief in the capabilities of STE students.
The event concluded smoothly with a closing prayer led by fellow Grade 10 STE learner Jihan Kendrick G. Cabbigat, leaving an atmosphere of renewed inspiration and focus among the attendees. The entire program was efficiently facilitated by Miss Hasmin Omaoeng, Teacher V, who served as the Emcee.
Guided by the provincial vision of unity and progress encapsulated in the slogan "La Union: Agkaysa!", this stipend distribution stands as a testament to what can be achieved when governance and education move forward hand in hand.
