The Project ORACLE: Delta, composed of five fourth-year BSES students, namely Ryza M. Caneos, Armin Shane De Veluz, Phaeby Jane Taรฑedo, Loren Ulson, and Jay Mark Creo, coached by Mr. JV Colili, bagged the Championship in the recently concluded Provincial Level DOST-HANDA MIMAROPA Pitching Competition.

The Department of Environmental Science proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. John Vincent C. Colili, Former Department Chairperson of the Department of Environmental Science, on his designation as Associate Dean of the College of Sciences.
During his tenure as Department Chairperson, Sir JV demonstrated exemplary leadership and an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, research, faculty development, quality assurance, and institutional growth. The Department of Environmental Science warmly welcomes our new Dean of the College of Sciences, Dr. Floredel Dangan-Galon!
Prior to her appointment as Dean, Dr. Dangan-Galon served as the University's Director for Research and Creative Works, where her visionary leadership advanced Palawan State University's research agenda and strengthened its culture of innovation and scholarly excellence. She also pioneered the University's Marine Science Research Center (MSRC), transforming it into one of Palawan State University's premier research facilities.
As one of the University's distinguished researchers and educators, we look forward to your leadership as we continue to advance excellence in instruction, research, extension, and public service, while fostering innovation and collaboration within the College of Sciences.

The Department of Environmental Science extends its heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to the Outgoing Dean of the College of Sciences, Dr. Ronald Edilberto A. Ona.
A core faculty member of the Department of Environmental Science, Dean Ron faithfully served as Dean of the College of Sciences for the past four and a half years. Under his leadership, the College successfully navigated the challenges of the post-pandemic transition while advancing toward greater institutional stability, academic excellence, and research growth.
Within the Department, Dean Ona played a pivotal role in strengthening our research culture. As one of the pioneers of the DES Four Laboratories concept, he championed initiatives that enhanced research productivity, fostered strategic alignment among faculty and laboratories, and improved learning and research facilities for both students and faculty. Your leadership, vision, and unwavering support have left a lasting mark on the College and the Department.

Co-authored by DES faculty member JML Diego, this study describes two new endemic ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐๐๐ค๐ฉ๐ง๐๐ (Rubiaceae) species from the Philippines: ๐๐ด๐บ๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ต๐ณ๐ช๐ข ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ข๐ณ๐ช๐ช from Mt. Guiting-Guiting, Sibuyan Island, and ๐๐ด๐บ๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ต๐ณ๐ช๐ข ๐ต๐ข๐จ๐ฃ๐ข๐ฏ๐ถ๐ข๐ณ๐ถ๐ฎ from the VictoriaโAnepahan Mountain Range and Mt. Mantalingahan in Palawan. Distinguished by unique morphological characteristics, these discoveries increase the number of recognized Psychotria species in the country to 117 and highlight the exceptional biodiversity of the Philippines' tropical subalpine ultramafic forests, reinforcing the need for their conservation.
