Researchers, faculty members, students, professionals, and research enthusiasts are invited to submit their abstracts for the BIMP-EAGA Multidisciplinary Research Conference 2026, with the theme:

📝 𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬:
Abstracts must not exceed 250 words and should include the rationale, objectives, methods, results, conclusion, and recommendations. Authors should also provide a maximum of four keywords and a short bio-note. The manuscript should be single-spaced, justified, in Arial 12, and submitted in PDF format.

[𝗣𝗘𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗖, 𝗜𝗻𝗰. 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲]

The International Conference on Advancements in Tourism and Hospitality Science (ICATHS 2026), held on July 1–2, 2026, successfully brought together distinguished scholars, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers from across the globe to explore innovative and evidence-based approaches toward a more regenerative, resilient, and sustainable future for tourism and hospitality.

Organized by Universiti Malaysia Sabah in collaboration with José Rizal University, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Palawan State University, and the Philippine-EAGA Higher Education Institutions Consortium (PEHEIC, Inc.), the conference served as a vibrant platform for international research exchange and strategic collaboration.

Representing PEHEIC, Inc., Dr. Hanlie Taha, President of the Consortium, actively participated in the conference, reaffirming the organization's commitment to advancing internationalization, academic excellence, and cross-border partnerships in higher education, tourism, and hospitality research.

𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚-𝙀𝘼𝙂𝘼 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙪𝙢 (𝙋𝙀𝙃𝙀𝙄𝘾)

Strengthening collaboration, fostering innovation, and advancing regional integration through higher education.

On June 16, 2026, representatives from member Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) gathered for the 2nd Quarter Face-to-Face Meeting of PEHEIC at Agusan del Sur State University in Bunawan. The delegates were warmly welcomed by University President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership in promoting educational excellence and regional development.

The meeting, led by PEHEIC President Dr. Hanlie A. Taha, served as a platform to discuss the consortium's strategic directions, strengthen institutional partnerships, and advance collaborative initiatives in research, academic mobility, membership expansion, and internationalization. Representatives from Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI, Mindanao Development Authority, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority participated both onsite and virtually, enriching the discussions and reinforcing inter-agency cooperation.

A notable highlight of the meeting was the formal welcome of Davao de Oro State College as the newest member of the consortium, further strengthening PEHEIC's network of institutions committed to excellence, innovation, and regional development.

As a consortium of higher education institutions within the Philippine areas of the BIMP-EAGA, PEHEIC remains dedicated to fostering meaningful collaboration that supports the growth, competitiveness, and sustainable development of the region through education, research, innovation, and international engagement.

Together, we continue to build a more connected, resilient, and prosperous BIMP-EAGA community.

Strengthening regional academic cooperation!

PEHEIC formalized partnerships with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) through the signing of LOIs, paving the way for more opportunities in research, academic exchange, and collaboration.

In support of strengthening mutual cooperation and fostering academic exchanges across various fields, PEHEIC facilitated the signing of Letter of Intent (LOI) between the University College Sabah Foundation and the Palawan State University (PSU) Del Sur Cluster, PSU Del Norte Cluster, and PSU Oriental Cluster. This partnership aims to promote sustainable, long-term collaboration and shared growth between the institutions.

Giducos, Director IV of the Investment Promotion & Public Affairs Office at the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), also spearheaded the signing of a Letter of Intent between Palawan State University and University College Sabah Foundation.

These landmark agreements, driven by PEHEIC’s leadership and coordination, underscore a strengthened dedication to collaborative initiatives, knowledge-sharing, and regional development within the BIMP-EAGA sub-region.
