PSU TAYTAY CAMPUS INTRAMURALS 2022

After a 2-year long layoff, the Palawan State University- Taytay Campus commenced its annual Intramural Meet 2022, where students from the different teams; the BSBA Junior Marketers, the BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, and the BSIT Information Technologists, competed in the various events that showcased sportsmanship and camaraderie, October 12-15.

In the early morning of October 12, the event started with a parade over which the participants showcased their cheer and yell, beginning from Fuerza de Sta. Isabel Taytay Fort (Kuta) Ground to the PSU- Taytay Campus covered court. The BSIT Information Technologists won the cheer and yell competition. An energetic Zumba exercise followed it. The message of the guest speaker, Hon. Maria Lucia R. Rodriguez emphasized the essential value of these events as she touched on the belongingness and togetherness as one family in a team. It was followed by raising the flag of the PSU Taytay Campus and the flags of the different competing teams. The campus director, Dr. Roderic G. Derecho, officially opened the event. It was immediately followed by the torch lighting by the former athletes Liwayway D. Edep, Angelcarl S. Valdez, Kenneth James R. Luci, and Alie A. Alicos. The toss of the basketball led by Ms. Janice N. Ponce de Leon, the Sports Coordinator, officially opened the different sports events.

On the third night, the event showcased the Mr. and Ms. Intrams Talent, Singing, and Dancing Competition. The solo category of the singing competition was bagged by the BSBA Junior Marketers, and the duet category was bagged by the BSIT Information Technologists. The BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers won the modern dance for the dancing competition. In the Dance Sport categories, both Latin and Standard, it was bagged by the BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers.

The most awaited search for Mr. and Ms. Intrams was held on October 15. The hailed Mr. Intrams was John Rex V. Nalica from the BSBA Junior Marketers, and for Ms. Intrams, Ms. Aidelyn P. Cajada won the crown from the same team.

The champions of the different sports events are as follows; for Basketball Men: the BSBA Junior Marketers; for Basketball Women: the BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers; for Volleyball Men and Women: the BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers; for Softball Women: the BSBA Junior Marketers; for Softball Men: the BSIT Information Technologists; for Sepak Takraw: the BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers; for Badminton Men; the BSBA Junior Marketers; for Badminton Women; the BSIT Information Technologists; for Table Tennis Men and Women; the BSBA Junior Marketers.

For the indoor games, the winner of scrabble was the BSIT Information Technologists. At the same time, the Chess Men Category was won by the BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers and for women from the BSBA Junior Marketers. Also, for the Mobile Legends tournament for esports, the winner for men is the BSBA Junior Marketers, and for Women, the BSIT Information Technologists.

For the throwing events, the winners of the different categories are as follows; for the Discus Throw Men: from the BSIT Information Technologists; for Discus Throw Women: from the BSBA Junior Marketers; for the Shotput Men: from the BSBA Junior Marketers and for women: from the BSIT Information Technologists.

The overall champion for the said event was the BSBA Junior Marketers tallying 44 golds, 38 silvers, and 14 bronze. The BSHM Restaurateurs and Hoteliers ranked second with 43 golds, 28 silvers, and 27 bronze. The BSIT Information technologists also bagged 31 golds, 19 silvers, and 44 bronze.

The Palawan State University - Taytay Campus kicks off its Intramural Meet 2022 with a march of parade of competing teams; the BSBA Junior Marketers, the BSHM Restaurateur Hoteliers, and the BSIT Information Technologists. The parade started at the Kuta Grounds, Fuerza De Sta.Isabel and features all the competing teams, the faculty and staff, the PSU - Taytay SGO, and the candidates for the highlight, the PSU Taytay Mr. And Ms. Intrams 2022.
