Last Friday’s workshop with Ms. Mayo Ortiz was an inspiring and eye-opening experience for our students, parents, and teachers. Together, we explored practical tools to transform nerves into confidence and bring out authentic performances on stage.

The workshop was filled with practical insights, meaningful activities, and empowering moments—beautifully captured in photos by Sir Urich and Sir Franz, reflecting the growth and learning we shared together.

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞 “𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨” 𝐎𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐳 is a respected global singing teacher, educator, and entrepreneur, with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master’s in Choral Conducting. As a VocaLab Australia alumna, she specializes in evidence-based, technique-driven vocal training.

A certified Meisner in Music artist in New York, Mayo integrates acting techniques into voice work to help singers develop emotional authenticity. She is the founder of Mayo Creatives, a platform revolutionizing vocal education by bridging technical mastery and authentic expression.

She is a member of the Sing Philippines Youth Choir (SPYC) under the Cultural Center of the Philippines. In 2024, she joined the SPYC’s European goodwill tour, with performances in Spain and Portugal—securing 4th place in both Polyphony and Folklore at the 55th Tolosa Choral Competition.

Mayo is also a trauma-informed sound therapist working with children’s shelters like Little Children of the Philippines, helping child survivors of abuse reclaim their voices through music.
She is currently representing her community at the Estill World Voice Symposium in Chicago and New York, which runs from July to August, expanding her expertise and network among global vocal leaders and experts.
