Palawan State University (PalSU) joined the Handog ng Pangulo program on September 14, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol of Palawan, highlighting the University's continuing role in bringing educational assistance and student-centered services closer to its learners.
A key part of PalSU's participation was the ceremonial distribution of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grants to 50 student beneficiaries. The activity provided an avenue for student recipients to receive their educational assistance as part of the University's coordinated participation in the provincial undertaking.
Beyond the distribution of grants, PalSU was tasked to integrate CHED-UniFAST services into the activity by providing information and assistance on student financial assistance programs, particularly through Project PEPA (Patuloy na Edukasyon, Patuloy na Pag-ahon).
The University's participation also extended to the establishment of a College/University Fair at the Provincial Capitol, designed to provide career counseling, academic and admission guidance, information on academic programs, and other education-related services to participants.
The event was made possible through the coordinated efforts of various PalSU offices and personnel. Under Special Order No. 564, Series of 2026, the University constituted an ad hoc committee to prepare for and support the conduct of Handog ng Pangulo, with responsibilities covering CHED-UniFAST services, the ceremonial distribution of TES/TDP grants, logistical and transportation requirements, meals, and the processing of the scholarship grant payroll for the 50 student beneficiaries.
For the 50 student beneficiaries, the activity was more than a ceremonial gathering—it marked the actual delivery of educational assistance intended to help them continue their studies. Through its participation in Handog ng Pangulo, PalSU continues to connect students with government-supported educational opportunities while strengthening coordination among the University, CHED-UniFAST, and partner institutions in the province.

REMINDER ON PROPER DRESS CODE

In light of the heightened security alert being observed at Palawan State University, we would like to reiterate the importance of observing the University's prescribed dress code.

For the past two days, we have received and noted several dress code violations within the campus. In this regard, all students are strongly encouraged to revisit and review the University Student Handbook, particularly the provisions on the proper and appropriate dress code, to ensure compliance and avoid further violations.

Please also be reminded that tomorrow, Wednesday, remains a free day from wearing the prescribed school uniform. Students may therefore wear civilian attire; however, the University's prescribed dress code must still be observed at all times.

The free day from wearing the school uniform does not mean that students are exempted from the University's standards on proper and decent attire. Everyone is expected to dress appropriately and in accordance with the provisions of the University Student Handbook.

We also continue to remind everyone to remain mindful of the memorandum issued by the Office of the University President in connection with the heightened security alert. Your cooperation and compliance with University policies are essential in maintaining a safe, orderly, and secure campus environment.

Please be guided accordingly and let us all do our part in keeping our campus safe.

Palawan State University (PalawanSU) strictly implemented its campus safety, access, and uniform policies across all campuses beginning Monday, September 7, following an official memorandum issued by the Office of the University President, September 6.
Under the updated guidelines, students must wear their prescribed school uniform and visibly display their official university identification card to enter the campus.
Meanwhile, crossdressing remains strictly prohibited, while uniform exemptions are restricted to valid medical conditions or religious obligations approved by the College Dean or the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS).
The policy reinforces security measures across all campuses, authorizing security personnel to verify credentials and conduct inquiries on campus.
At the Tiniguiban campus, Walk-Through Metal Detectors (WTMD) are operational at the main gate. The administration advises individuals to arrive 15 to 30 minutes earlier than their scheduled classes during the initial implementation weeks to manage screening queues.

PUBLIC STATEMENT

In response to an ongoing investigation of online posts concerning the safety and security of our students, the University Administration has ordered an immediate temporary shift to online synchronous and asynchronous learning modalities exclusively at the Tiniguiban (Main) Campus today, September 4, 2026, covering all levels from junior high school to college, alongside the postponement of earlier scheduled campus activities and the suspension of physical student events.

As a precautionary measure, security protocols across campus premises have been further tightened while university officials are actively in coordination with local law enforcement to resolve the situation, deter similar threats, and ensure community safety.
