LOOK || PSU Dominates 30th Philippine Statistics Quiz Provincial Finals, Claims Top 3 Spots

Palawan State University achieved a historic sweep at the 30th Philippine Statistics Quiz Provincial Elimination in Puerto Princesa City, claiming the top three spots. Charles Noel L. Castro, emerged as the Champion, with fellow PalawanSU students Zedrick Shane D. Manzul securing Second Place, and Einoz Russel P. Gabo taking Third Place.

This dominating performance is a testament to the students' hard work and brilliant statistical skills. PalawanSU and the entire Palawan community extend their deepest gratitude and congratulations to their dedicated coach, Engr. Jerico M. Padrones, whose guidance and invaluable support were instrumental in this monumental achievement.

A Shared Vision for the Palaweño Youth: PalawanState University thanks Provincial Board Member Hon. Winston G. Arzaga and our Congressional Leaders for their proactive efforts to bolster campus safety and student welfare across all campuses.

More than equipment, this initiative is a powerful statement of partnership. It affirms that Palawan's local government leaders stand shoulder to shoulder with the university — not merely as legislators, but as partners in nation-building, working hand in hand with PalawanSU to widen the doors of higher education for every Palaweño, especially those in the far-flung towns and barangays of the countryside who dream of a college diploma as their pathway out of poverty. 3 PalawanSU graduates place in the Top 10 of the September 2026 Psychometrician Licensure Examination

Palawan State University celebrates another outstanding achievement as three of its graduates ranked among the Top 10 in the September 2026 Psychometrician Licensure Examination (PMLE).

🥇 Ma. Jelome Gabasa Aspe — Top 8 with 92.80%
🥇 Faith Anne Misajon Cornel — Top 9 with 92.60%
🥇 Felix Nathaniel Marquez Macalacad — Top 9 with 92.60%

The University also produced 93 newly licensed psychometricians, posting a 97.89% overall passing rate (93 out of 95 examinees), compared with the 91.72% national passing rate.

This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our examinees and the continued support of the faculty, mentors, families, and the entire PalawanSU community.

Palawan State University (PalawanSU) proudly recognizes Atty. Rhodel Magrata, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, for representing the University as observer and reactor in the “ReVAmP LGC: Regional Focus Group Discussion on the Proposed Amendments to the Local Government Code” held on September 23, 2026 at Madison 101 Hotel Tower, Quezon City.

Organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MIMAROPA Region in partnership with the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), the consultation gathered policy inputs and legislative proposals to update Republic Act No. 7160, the Local Government Code of 1991. Through his participation, Atty. Magrata shared PalawanSU’s academic perspective and expertise in governance, reflecting the University’s growing role as a trusted partner in shaping transparent, inclusive, and people-centered policies.

PalawanSU extends its sincere gratitude to Director Rey S. Maranan, CESO IV, Regional Director of DILG MIMAROPA, for inviting the University to contribute to this important dialogue.

IN PHOTOS || Rep. Legazpi backs SUCs budget for FY 2027

Representative Karl Josef Fernandez Legazpi, newly appointed Vice-Chair of the Committee on Appropriations, championed and defended the proposed budget allocation for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) during the House Committee on Appropriations’ plenary deliberations for the Fiscal Year 2027 budget earlier today, September 23, 2026.

The deliberations covered funding under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, capital outlay requirements for campus infrastructure, and operating expenditures intended to support faculty development and academic programs.

Pinoy Workers Partylist Rep. Legazpi also emphasized the need for equitable resource allocation to regional and provincial SUCs to help sustain access to higher education and address the needs of local communities.

Following the deliberations, the committee terminated its consideration of the SUC budget, allowing the proposed allocations to proceed to the next stage of the budget process toward inclusion in the General Appropriations Bill (GAB).

To help our students recharge after Midterm Examination Week, September 28, 2026 (Monday) is declared a WELLNESS BREAK across PalawanSU campuses.

📌 KEY GUIDELINES:
• All classes and academic activities are suspended on September 28.
• Faculty Members: Work-From-Home (7:30 AM – 1:00 PM) for non-teaching duties.
• Non-Teaching Personnel: On duty from 8:00 AM – 12:00 NN (Afternoon work suspended for National Family Week).

⚠ EXCEPTIONS:
• PSU-Quezon Campus: Break is moved to October 1 (Thursday) due to an ISO Visit.
• ILS: Regular class schedules apply.
