Some officers of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) spearheaded a herbal planting activity at the Science Laboratory building. The project aimed to promote environmental stewardship, healthy living, and the sustainable use of school grounds. Herbal plants such as oregano, insulin, and serpentina were planted, highlighting their value as natural remedies and daily essentials. The activity not only enhanced the school environment but also provided students with practical knowledge about the benefits and uses of medicinal plants.

We, the officers of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) joined the celebration of Earth Day 2022 with the theme: “Youth: Invest in Our Planet.”

We pledge to help save our Earth. We will plant trees, practice the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—and support programs that aim to protect the environment. 🌍 Together, we commit to being Science Champions for the planet.

Not everyone fully understands climate change, so we encourage everyone to learn the facts and share them with friends and family. If we all understand the science, we can work together to find real solutions.

As a youth, we have the simple yet effective power to make our voices be heard through our choices, our civic actions, and our personal interactions through our “Puso, Galing at Talino.” Looking or thinking ahead about what each of us does, and how we implement it, has a huge ripple effect on our ecosystems, and on the pace of corporate and government action. 🤩💚💙
