'PASILONG'

An artist from Occidental Mindoro wowed netizens with his incredibly realistic art piece on Friday.

Self-taught artist Arvin Cabero Caspe, 23, said that he started working on the project on September 15, 2023, and was able to complete it on October 27, 2023.

He then revealed that it was his 11-year-old sister in the portrait.

Titled "Pasilong," Caspe said he took inspiration from people like him who are not fortunate enough to have their own shelter, especially in times of need.

"Ipininta ko po yung artwork na yun para sa mga tulad namin na kapos palad din. Lalo na sa mga walang sariling tirahan at walang maayos na tirahan, mga nakatira sa lansangan na nagkukumahog kung saan or kung may [masisilungan] ba sila sa panahon ng tag ulan, bagyo," he explained. PAINTING OF NESTOR ABAYON OF MINDORO

Another masterpiece Oil canvass of Mangyan painter Nestor Abayon Jr from Rizal, Occ. Mindoro. He puts "hikahos" as its title. Look at the plastic raincoat cover how it was captured in a realistic color made from his brush. Nestor is also the Artist that made the Mangyan Paintings at Mansalay Or. Mindoro Cultural & Heritage Museum.
