Generoso Elementary School dancers representing the Talomo East District showcased remarkable grace, discipline, and determination as they bagged an impressive 12 gold medals in the Latin and Modern Standard disciplines of the Dancesport competition.
In the Modern Standard category, Harvey Lian Morisette J. Dagasdas and Myra Jane S. Pangaldin moved across the competition floor with elegance and precision. Their synchronized steps, graceful movements, and confident performance reflected the dedication and countless hours poured into their training.
Meanwhile, Chrisnel Dalompen*s and Ailyn Pawin represented the district in the Latin Discipline, bringing energy, rhythm, and passion to every performance. Their dynamic movements and strong partnership demonstrated not only their talent but also their determination to compete at their best.
For the Modern Standard athletes, success is anchored in the willingness to keep showing up, even when progress takes time. Dagasdas and Pangaldin shared their simple yet powerful reminder:
โConstant training, discipline and patience mao gyud ang kinahanglan para ma-achieve ang goal.โ
Their words echoed the values that carried them through every demanding practice and every challenge on the competition floor.
For Coach Basilia O. Opalla, every step of the dancersโ journey is part of their growth. She emphasized that success in dancesport is not simply about mastering movements quickly, but about having the patience and determination to continue improving.
โIn dancesport, progress is not measured by how quickly they learn, but by how patiently they keep going. Every practice, every mistake, and every tired step is shaping them into a stronger dancer. They may not be perfect today, but with determination, patience, and consistency, I know they will become the dancer they dream of being,โ Opalla said.
Adding to the teamโs support system was Generoso Elementary School Principal June Elias V. Patalinghug, who underscored the importance of visible and meaningful leadership in helping learners and coaches succeed.
โSupportive leadership should be seen, not just heard. As school principals, our support must go beyond words. Our presence during training, our involvement in preparations, and simply being there with our learners and coaches during the competition matter,โ Patalinghug said.
The 12-gold medal haul stands as a testament to the dancersโ talent and perseverance, as well as the collective effort of everyone who stood behind them. More than medals, their performance celebrated the beauty of movement, the power of teamwork, and the determination to dance their way to excellence.
With every step, turn, and beat, Talomo East proved that champions do not simply perform, they move with purpose.
