We are keeping alumni, former students and friends connected. Brief History:

Education is the one of the most sought after of man's pursuit. A legacy, an inheritance every father and mother would wish to bestow in their children knowing it is among the best preparation of life for the children. Growth and Consequently, development is one of the most natural occurrences among God's living creature

s. The Our Lady of Grace Academy is not only an institution it is truly an organization capable of growth and development. Such has been a sure manifestation of OLGA since the day of its inception the effort of the late Rev. Fr. Ruperto Fuentes and the members of the Parish Pastoral Council of the Parish of Saint Isidore, Pontevedra, Capiz. They voluntarily and freely gave, conveyed and transferred to the congregation of the Rosarian Dominican Sisters the right of possession, use and usufruct the parcel of land including the existing concrete multipurpose building exclusively for the running, operation and maintenance of a Catholic School. Its operation began in the school year 1990-1991. Cognizant of the need to provide additional classroom, coupled with the awareness of the disruption and inattentiveness of pupils in an open classroom, the parents embarked on the project headed by Mrs. Trinidad Gumban, the President of the Parents Association with the cooperation of the ever supportive parents and with special mention Hon. Jose Avelino III, the project was realized. Since then, Our Lady of Grace Academy was surely a standout as an institution. She has weathered three years of the most critical period of the first year of existence and operation of any institution. This is because of the tireless efforts of the parents, the generous support of her friends, and benefactors, and the selfless service of the Rosarian Dominican Sisters running it. In 1994, the Parent-Teachers Association decide that the school would exist independently from the other school of Lonoy, Roxas City. Thus because of the PA’s desire to make it a parish school to be supported by the parishioners of Pontevedra, capiz and with the coordinator of the Parish Priest Rev. Eugenio Caldeo Jr., the Institution applied for a change from Our lady of Grace Academy to Parish School of Saint Isidore. To date, the PSSI reached the sixth grade and school year 1994 – 1995 saw the first graduates of the elementary level. This event was a source of great joy to the parents. They took it as God’s gift and reward for their efforts headed by the newly elected PA President Mrs. Nida P. Blanco. All parents exerted efforts to answer an imperative need to put up another permanent building to house the intermediate classes. God has been so good to have been able to send to PSSI the very good and caring Rosarian Dominican Sisters. Their presence in the parish of Saint Isidore is truly a blessing of the Christian Community of Pontevedra. Their Solicitous care and attention toward the children placed under their care is a true gift our providential and loving father. The 22 years operation of PSSI has proven to be very encouraging. She has given the best education to each and every child under her care in spite of the limited sources and facilities. The parents have been very grateful and vocal about the progress and development of their children PSSI. The school has taken its seat in the hall of the prominence in the church and in the community. It will be therefore be always the prayer and the hope of the parishioners that this school PSSI will be blessed by the Almighty with much success and fruitfulness as the years go by being the only Catholic School in the parish. Late Rev. Ruperto Fuentes, the Founder of the institution will always remain in the hearts of the staff and pupils.
