• Its evergreens symbolize continuous life.
• Its circle with no beginning and no end reflects God’s eternity and the promise of eternal life in Christ.
• Its four candles guide us each week toward Christmas:
– Three purple candles for prayer, penance, and sacrifice
– One pink candle symbolizing joy
