Separate people from the problem.💪🏻

**Many adults still carry a painful belief that started in childhood - "I am the problem."**

That is toxic shame.

It is not about knowing you made a mistake. It is about believing *you* are the mistake.

Children who repeatedly hear they are "too much", "too sensitive", "lazy", "bad" or "a problem" can grow into adults who apologise for existing, struggle to accept love, fear rejection and never feel good enough. Toxic shame develops when children begin to see themselves as fundamentally flawed, rather than understanding that their behaviour needs guidance and support. ([socialworkerstoolbox.com][1])

Every parent, teacher, social worker, foster carer and adult who influences a child's life needs to understand this difference.

If this message speaks to you, please share it. You never know who might finally realise that what they have carried for years was never theirs to carry.

STAY ALERT, STAY SAFE, PROUDLY ORAGON!

A Message of Resilience & Readiness not just to PGCHSians but for every BICOLANOs

We Bicolanos carry the name ORAGON with pride—for generations, it has defined who we are: brave, resilient, quick-witted, and unshaken no matter what storms or shaking ground come our way. We live in a land shaped by active volcanoes and fault lines; we have faced earthquakes before, and we know we may face them again. Being oragon is not just about being tough when trouble hits—it is about being wise enough to prepare, calm enough to act, and kind enough to look after one another.

Earthquakes strike without warning, and they do not wait for us to be ready. But we can choose to be ready long before the ground moves.

BEFORE: PREPARE

•Make a family emergency plan and pick a safe meeting place
•Pack a Go Bag with food, water, first aid, flashlight, and important papers
•Secure heavy furniture and know your evacuation routes

DURING: ACT CALMLY

•DROP to your knees
•COVER your head/neck under sturdy shelter or against an inner wall
• HOLD ON until shaking stops; stay away from windows and never use elevators

AFTER: STAY VIGILANT

• Watch out for aftershocks
• Check for injuries and home damage
• Follow official updates and help neighbors in need

We have stood firm through typhoons, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes, and we will stand firm again. Our resilience is not just about surviving—it is about being ready, being smart, and being there for each other.

Let us keep our pride in being oragon, and let us turn that pride into action.

Readiness turns fear into strength, and unity turns danger into hope.

Stay ALERT
Stay SAFE
Stay PROUDLY ORAGON— today, tomorrow and always!

What if your child understood this? ❤️

What if your child realized that a bully isn’t always the strongest person in the room?

What if they understood that behind bullying is often fear, insecurity, sadness, or a need to feel powerful because something inside them doesn’t feel okay?

That realization can change everything.

Instead of thinking,
“There must be something wrong with me,”

they may begin to think,
“Maybe this isn’t really about me.”

That doesn’t make bullying acceptable. It never is.

But understanding why people bully can help children stop giving bullies so much power over how they see themselves.

When children know that bullying often comes from someone’s own struggles, they are less likely to carry the hurt as proof that they are “not enough.”

At the same time, this is an important conversation for another reason.

Sometimes our own children may become the bully.

When that happens, the goal is not simply to punish the behavior. It is to become curious.

Ask:
❤️ What is my child trying to communicate?
❤️ Are they hurting?
❤️ Do they need connection, guidance, or help managing difficult emotions?

Children who feel emotionally safe are more likely to show empathy toward others. Children who are hurting often struggle to give what they have not experienced themselves.

This week, show this poster to your child and have a conversation about it.

Help them understand that:
• Bullying is never okay.
• Being bullied is never their fault.
• People who bully often need help too.
• We can stand up for ourselves while still choosing compassion.

Because emotionally healthy children don’t just learn how to respond to bullies.

They also learn not to become one. ❤️

Reflection questions for parents:
🤍 Have I talked with my child about why some people bully, not just what bullying looks like?

🤍 If my child were being bullied, would they feel safe telling me?

🤍 If my child were bullying someone else, would I look beneath the behavior before reacting?

🤍 Through my own words and actions, am I modeling respect, empathy, and healthy ways to handle conflict?

FREE TIKTOK PARENT GUIDE: SAFETY, PRIVACY AND AGE TIPS

TikTok can be fun, creative and social, but it also comes with risks that parents and carers need to understand. This TikTok Parent Guide offers clear, practical advice for talking with children about what they watch, share and respond to online.

It explains how the For You feed works, why children are drawn to short videos and trends, and where concerns can appear — including inappropriate content, contact from strangers, livestreaming, in-app spending, personal information sharing and too much screen time.

The guide also shares simple safety steps families can use at home, such as setting accounts to private, limiting comments and direct messages, using Family Pairing, managing screen time and checking privacy settings regularly. A helpful reminder: TikTok is intended for ages 13+, and younger users need extra support and supervision.

A useful resource for calm, everyday conversations about TikTok safety, privacy and healthier online habits.

Motivation is amazing… but it’s not always available when you need it.

Some days you feel ready to change your life.
Other days, even the smallest step feels heavy.

That’s why relying only on motivation can keep us stuck in the same cycle: feel inspired, start strong, lose energy, stop, then wait to feel motivated again.

Real progress usually looks much quieter.

It looks like showing up when it’s not exciting.
Doing a little when you can’t do a lot.
Repeating the small habits that don’t look impressive yet.
Choosing consistency over perfection.
Keeping going long enough to become the person you said you wanted to be.

You don’t need to feel motivated every day to move forward.
You don’t need to be perfect to make progress.
You just need to keep coming back to the goal, one small step at a time.

Because motivation gets you started… but consistency gets you there.

Sometimes the child who interrupts “too much” isn’t trying to be difficult.

The child who follows you from room to room may not be “clingy.”

The child who asks the same question again and again may not be “doing it on purpose.”

The child who melts down over something small may not be looking for attention.

They may be looking for connection.

A calm voice.
A safe adult.
A moment of eye contact.
A reminder that they still matter.
A little reassurance that you’re not too busy, too angry or too far away.

Children don’t always have the words to say, “I feel anxious,” “I need you,” “I’m scared you’ll leave,” or “Please help me feel safe.”

So it comes out as interrupting, clinging, acting out, following, shouting, crying or pushing every button we have.

And yes, boundaries still matter. Behaviour still needs guidance. Adults still get tired.

But sometimes the most powerful response is to pause and ask:

“What is this child trying to tell me underneath the behaviour?”

Because when we see the need behind the behaviour, we can respond with connection before correction.

And connection is often where calmer behaviour begins. 💛
