The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) manages juvenile cases in the Philippines by enforcing restorative justice, ensuring that children who break the law are held accountable while receiving full rehabilitation instead of standard jail sentences. Under Republic Act No. 9344, also known as the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA), minors involved in crimes are officially classified as Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL).
