PLAY FOR THE MANGROVES, ISINAGAWA SA POLA CENTRAL

Matagumpay na naisagawa ang Play for the Mangroves sa Pola Central School at sa mga piling lugar noong Sabado, November 22, 2025 sa pangunguna ng SEACOLOGY at ABS CBN Foundation-Bantay Kalikasan in partnership with Brgy. Officials of Batuhan at Pola Central School Teaching and Non-teaching personnel na nilahukan ng 143 mag-aaral ng nasabing paaralan.
Layunin ng nasabing gawain na imulat ang kamalayan ng mga mag-aaral sa pangangalaga ng mga bakawan at kung paano ito makakatulong sa mga mamamayan lalong-lalo na ngayong umiiral ang climate change at mga natural na kalamidad.
Pinangunahan ni Ms. Ricel Almadovar-Program Manager of Play for the Mangroves Philippines ang Opening Program, MOA Signing at Handover of equipments kasama si Ms. Sar Alcayde-Agcaoli mula sa ABS-CBN Foundation-Bantay Kalikasan at Mr. Rex D. Ramirez- principal ng paaralan. Present din sa nasabing gawain si Hon. Joel S. Naling ang kapitan ng Brgy Batuhan, SPTA President Lloyd Medrano at kinatawan mula sa PNP-Pola Municipal Station.
Nagsagawa ng lecture sa loob ng Bacawan Area sa Sitio Kabilang Ibayo, Batuhan, Pola, Oriental Mindoro na pinangunahan ng mga Science Teachers at mga piling mag-aaral mula Grade 4-6. Ang clean up drive ay isinagawa rin sa nasabing lugar upang manatili ang kalinisan nito.
Napuno naman ng hiyawan ang Batuhan Covered Court ng magsimula ang Quiz Game upang mataya ang mga natutunan ng mga mag-aaral sa lecture tungkol sa pangangalaga ng Bacawan. Lalong di magkamayaw ang mga manonood nang magsimula ang Basketball Tournament na pinamunuan ng masipag na Sports Coordinator ng paaralan na si G. Junmar F. Famorcan. Ito ay isa sa mga highlights ng nasabing event. Nilahukan ito ng mga basketball players ng Pola Central School mula sa School Sports Club. Hinati ang mga players sa apat na koponan na nagtagisan ng galing at husay sa paglalaro ng basketball. Naibulsa ng yellow team ang kampeonato habang pumangalawa naman ang Green Team, at nakuha ng Blue team at Red Team ang ikatlo at ikaapat na pwesto.
Sa nasabing event itinanghal na MVP, 3 point King at isa sa pili sa mythical five si James Bullet Pineda habang itinanghal naman na Tapal King si Greyson Borabo. Kabilang sa mga namituin sa nasabing palaro sina John James Ruan, Cyrus Jake Tolentino, Edward Joseph Abo at Jacob Garcia.

----Buong pusong pasasalamat ang ipinahahatid ng paaralan sa SEACOLOGY at ABS CBN Foundation sa pahahandog ng mga libreng T-shirts at Basketball Jerseys na ginamit sa nasabing event gayundin ang Basketball Sports equipments na magagamit ng mga mag-aaral sa susunod na palaro..
