Rev. Andrew Tiaga, the Library-in-Charge of Ganan Memorial Library and Learning Resource Center attended the 3-day seminar-workshop on the use of AI in library services organized by the ASEAN Public Library Information Network (APLIN), Philippine Normal University Library and Information Science Alumni Association (PNULISAA), and the Philippine National Library.
The said Seminar-Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Applications in ASEAN Public Libraries and the 1st General Assembly of APLiN kicked off last Wednesday, October 15, 2025 —uniting passionate library professionals from across the ASEAN region through onsite and Zoom sessions for two days of dynamic learning, meaningful collaboration, and forward-thinking innovation.
𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏 opened with warm welcomes from Ms. Maylene L. Mallari, President, PNU-LISAA and Ms. Punnapa Saksakorn President, APLiN, followed by a commemorative photo with VIPs and participants. Plenary sessions explored AI fundamentals, practical tools, and prompt crafting techniques led by Ms. Saksakorn, Dr. Chaerul Umam, Vice President, APLiN and Ms. Janice Penaflor, Adviser, PNU-LISAA. The day wrapped up with an engaging open forum and certificate awarding.
