Did you know?
Even without water, fires can extinguish themselves! This happens when the fire runs out of fuel, is deprived of oxygen, or cools down below the temperature needed to sustain combustion.

This is because a fire needs three things to burn (FIRE TRIANGLE): fuel, oxygen, and heat. If any of these elements are removed or reduced below a critical level, the fire will die out.

Did you know?
Burns can be caused by cold as well as heat. ❄️ While we often think of burns in relation to fire or hot surfaces, excessive cold can actually cause frostbite, which damages the skin and tissue in a way that’s similar to a burn. 🧊 According to the American Academy of Dermatology, frostbite occurs when skin and underlying tissues freeze, leading to permanent damage if not treated promptly. Just like a burn from heat, frostbite can lead to serious injury if not treated properly. ❄️

Brilliance in Words & Art! 📖✒️

On March 20, 2025, in celebration of Fire Prevention Month, the School Hydrological Information Network (SHINe) Club parked creativity and awareness through a Spelling Bee and Poster Making Contest. Students from different grade levels showcased their linguistic and artistic talents, emphasizing the importance of fire safety and prevention.

With intense competition and inspiring creativity, the event successfully highlighted the role of education in disaster awareness. Participants demonstrated their passion, knowledge, and artistic expression, making the competition a true testament to their skills and dedication. Every word spelled and every stroke of color painted a message of safety and preparedness!

Congratulations to all the winners and participants! Your hard work and enthusiasm have made this event a resounding success. Let’s continue to be vigilant, informed, and proactive in preventing fire-related hazards! 🚒🔥
