The Department of Criminology of Richwell Colleges Incorporated successfully conducted its Marches & Bivouacs 2026 participated in by the First Year and Second Year Criminology students. The activity aimed to develop discipline, teamwork, leadership, physical endurance, situational awareness, and fieldcraft skills essential in the field of law enforcement and public safety.
At exactly 0530H, the participating students assembled and formed by teams under the leadership of the Vice Governor ๐๐๐ซ๐ค ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ง๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ข๐จ who served as the Student Commander of the activity, under the supervision of ๐
๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ซ (๐๐๐ญ.), ๐๐ก.๐, Program Head of the Criminology Department. The formation and accounting procedures were conducted to ensure proper attendance, accountability of personnel, dissemination of instructions, and preparation for the day's activities.
At 0600H, the participants commenced their march from the Richwell Colleges Incorporated campus toward the designated Bivouac Area. The march tested the students' endurance, discipline, teamwork, and ability to follow commands while maintaining formation and bearing throughout the movement.
By 0630H, the participants arrived safely at the Bivouac Area where they were welcomed and briefed by the Director of the Department of Criminology, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ (๐๐๐ญ.), ๐๐ก.๐. During the briefing, students received valuable instruction on perimeter defense, security measures within a bivouac site, and the importance of establishing an effective all-around defense system. Each team was tasked to establish their respective bivouac area and properly set up tents while applying principles of security, organization, and teamwork. Students were likewise introduced to basic field movement techniques commonly used in police and tactical operations, emphasizing communication, coordination, and safety while moving through wooded and unfamiliar terrain.
Following the fieldcraft orientation, the participants were instructed to apply improvised camouflage techniques using natural materials found within the environment such as grass, vines, leaves, and other vegetation. This exercise emphasized the importance of concealment, observation, adaptability, and the ability to blend with the surroundingsโskills that are valuable in field operations and tactical situations.
After completing the activities, the students conducted a 3-kilometer march back to the Richwell Colleges Incorporated campus under the guidance and supervision of FCAPT BENABESE. The return march further strengthened the students' physical stamina, resilience, and commitment to completing assigned tasks despite fatigue and environmental challenges.
The Department of Criminology extends its sincere appreciation to all individuals who contributed to the successful and safe conduct of the activity. Likewise, heartfelt gratitude is given to the barangay tanods and traffic personnel who ensured the safety of all participants by assisting in traffic management and providing safe passage along the route.
The Marches & Bivouacs 2026 served not only as a training activity but also as a meaningful learning experience that strengthened the students' discipline, leadership, teamwork, and preparedness for future responsibilities in the field of criminology and law enforcement. Through activities such as these, Richwell Colleges Incorporated continues to uphold its commitment to producing competent, responsible, and service-oriented future professionals.
