📧[email protected] BRIEF HISTORY OF PILILLA ACADEMY FOUNDATION, INC. formerly known as Pililla Academy has been distinguished as one of the leading secondary schools in the Province of Rizal and reputed one of the institutes of learning known throughout the country. It was founded in the heart of the town of Pililla, Rizal in the year 1
949 by a prominent and energetic businessman Mr. He is the one who first administered the institute with the help of his wife, Mrs. Cayetana B. Paz who became the vice President. The other people who were involved behind the institute were Ms. Remedios Paz, the Secretary and Ms. Ofelia Gina, the Treasurer. The institute started in a two-storey house owned by former councilor Mr. Ernesto Tibay. The starting number of students of Pililla Academy who enrolled in first year is 35. Then, they transferred near the Bautista’s residence, the school’s first mentors Judge Eulogio Cervantes, Engr. Pedro Martinez, Dr. Emilia Talavera, Mr. Urbano Vidanes, Mrs. Belen Cruz, Mrs. Corazon Balajadia, Mrs. Adoracion Acosta, Mrs. Lourdes Ison, and Mrs. Nene Angeles. There were only 29 graduates after the first four years of teachings who later became members of the teaching force of the school. At present, the school can be seen at Quitiong St., Takungan, Pililla, Rizal. The aforesaid administrator run the school from 1949-1962, but unfortunately, the founder suffered financial issues, so he was forced to bestow the school to the Parish Priest of Pililla, Fr. Vicente Ma. Reyes, later on Msgr. Reyes. Despite of the destitute condition of the school, Msgr. Reyes continued running it for the reason that he would like to help the needy town people of Pililla. He became the overall chairman of the administration of the institute for several years from SY 1963-64 to SY 1991-92. At first, the enrollment was only 180, from first year to fourth year. But later on, there was gradual boom in the dedication, guts, and perseverance serves as lee-way to build better citizens of Pililla from generation to generation. Furthermore, the Principals of Pililla Academy Foundation under the administration of our philanthropic parish priest, from 1949 were as follows:

In 1985, the school’s name was converted to Pililla Academy Foundation Inc. under tge administrative endowment of Msgr. In July, 1985, it was recognized and authorized to separate for the complete General Secondary Course. From 1987-188, Pililla Academy topped the NCEE (NATIONAL COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION) with the rating 99 plus not even one of the 190 students who took the test failed. When Msgr. Reyes passed away last November 1992, Atenean Lawyer and Dean of the College of Law’s succeeded him, and managed the school for seven years, from November 1992- May 1, 1999. On May 31, 1999, he had resigned and Mr. Bartolome L. Avila took overbased on the result of election held at Candelaria’s Residence, Bagumbayan, Pililla, Rizal by the members of the school board. School year 1999-2000, Mrs. Leonita P. Gipulan ordered Mr. Abad to call the parents of the graduating students regarding the yearbook requirement. The parents agreed and its proceed were utilized for the project “TRUSSES WITH ROOFING”. The project was finished thru the help of the parents, under the chairmanship of Mr. Eduardo Abad, Vice Chairman Mr. Angoluan together with the collaboration of all teachers in PAF. In the year 2000, Pililla Academy joined the RIPRISA, a competition that was held to enhance the skills of the students. After that year, the members of DepEd visited PAF and observed if the institute is well facilitated. They also observed if the teaching are admirable, the exact date was February 10, 2004. On that same year, the FAPE also went in the school to roll call all the grantees of ESC. The Fourth Year Batch 2003-20 04 was the 53rd member of the Commencement Exercises. And Fourth Year 2004-2005 member of the 54th Commencement Exercises. Pililla Academy proves to be stronger and improving as the years of struggles and trials pass by. They’re never giving up their goal “To give the students a quality education” and they did not fail. In fact, the Academians subjects and special skill whenever the compete with other schools. Despite of the economic crisis that the school school faces, it remains standing and will raise again as what it has started before for the better future of high school educands and townspeople of Pililla from generation to generation. And as members of the community and Alumni celebrates her 55th Commencement Exercises, we can look back at her glorious past, examine her present and dream great dream for her future.
