The Dawani Student Core Group, CBSUA Bicol Regional Gender and Development Resource Center, and various partner organizations and agencies successfully launched the initiative ๐ฆ๐๐๐ ๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ข! ๐ง๐ผ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฉ-๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ with the theme: โ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฆ๐ค๐ต, ๐๐ณ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต, ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ณโ on June 17, 2025, at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture- Pili Campus.
This one-day initiative was open to the general public, offering free HIV testing and screening, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) services, condoms, and other essential contraceptives, with the goal of promoting accessible, stigma-free sexual and reproductive health services for all.
The event opened with a webinar on โ๐ฆ๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ,โ led by ๐ ๐
. ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ด, Founder and President of GentleMen Bicol for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Inc., Case Manager of SHIP, and a prominent HIV/AIDS educator and LGBTQIA+ rights advocate. This online session laid the groundwork for understanding HIV, STIs, transmission, and prevention in a compassionate, rights-based framework.
Throughout the day, ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ต ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ (๐ฆ๐๐๐ฃ) led the mobilization of Free and Confidential HIV testing and PrEP services, while also providing educational counseling for those interested in accessing long-term preventive care.
Partner organizations worked to ensure that both awareness and resources reached beyond the CBSUA campus, extending support to surrounding communities and youth sectors.
The program concluded with a candle-lighting ceremony at 6:00 PM, held at the CBSUA Pili. In a moving tribute, representatives from Dawani, Student Core Group, Sustained Health Initiative of the Philippines, Gryphon - CBSUA Pili Chapter, College of Veterinary Medicine Student Council, and CBSUA Bicol Regional Gender and Development Resource Center represented Mx. Gochoel Bermas, shared messages of hope and solidarity for Persons Living with HIV. An audio-visual prayer presentation reflected the communityโs shared commitment to dignity, inclusion, and compassion.
SAFE TAYO! stands as a bold and inclusive campaign, one that empowers not only the academic sector but also the wider Bicolano community to take action in building an HIV-free, informed, and empowered society.

The ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ผ๐น ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ด๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ, through the Dawani Student Core Group and CBSUA Regional Gender and Development CBSUA Regional GAD Resource Center, in partnership with ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ต ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐, ๐๐ป๐ฐ. (SHIP), successfully conducted a ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ณ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ง๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด during university's orientation seminar titled "SIRANG AND ABRASA 2025, held on August 14, 2025 at the CBSUA LRV Student Atrium.
The organization also gave free GAD SafeCode Keychain, and conducted the Batch 2 Recruitment for Dawani Student Core Group and Ang Salinsinag, student-led organization under the Bicol Regional GAD Resource Center.
Moreover, the BRGADRC Director, Dr. Glenn E. Redecilla, promoted GAD services available to students and university stakeholders. During the talk, first year students were also introduced to gender-sensitive practices and related policies.
The said initiative was part of the Dawani Student Core Group's campaign titled SAFE TAYO! Together for HIV- Free Community.
Together, we continue to raise awareness, promote health, and inspire stateans to be active advocates of inclusivity, and sexual reproductive health and rights.
