𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐏𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬, 𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

In line with the University's commitment to optimal learning and working environments, Engr. Dino Jose M. Relativo, the University Physical Plant and Development Services (PPDS) Director, recently concluded initial campus visits across the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) system. The visits, which commenced on January 13, 2025.

During each visit, Engr. Relativo held courtesy calls with campus administrators and engaged in discussions with Campus PPDS Coordinators. These discussions focused on the current state of campus infrastructure, planned projects, maintenance needs, and potential areas for collaboration.

The visits covered all three CBSUA campuses: Calabanga, Pasacao, and Sipocot. In addition to meetings and discussions, Engr. Relativo conducted brief familiarization visits to relevant offices and project sites on each campus.

The PPDS Director expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and support received from all campuses during the visits. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to address infrastructure needs and create a conducive learning environment for students and faculty.

𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

The Electrical Section of CBSUA's Physical Plant Development and Services has completed a wide range of tasks to enhance campus safety, functionality, and decorations during the last quarter of 2024.

Major accomplishments include tracing and troubleshooting the library elevator wiring, replacing a faulty circuit breaker, and addressing issues with electrical meters and outlets. The team also installed and replaced various fixtures, such as orbit fans, lights, and outlets, while wiring them to the main breaker for reliable connections. Christmas decorations were enhanced with additional lights.

Key infrastructure works included installing wiring and floodlights on streetlight poles, setting up TV racks and wall-mounted TVs, and preparing wiring for the generator set with a manual transfer switch. Additional support included assisting plumbers with water booster pump installation and de-clogging drainage systems. Tree removal and securing electrical service entrances to address power fluctuations rounded off their efforts.

The Carpentry Section of CBSUA's Physical Plant Development and Services has successfully completed a range of projects over the past three months, significantly improving campus facilities.

From October to mid-December 2024, the team focused on both construction and maintenance work. Major accomplishments include the fabrication and painting of tables, office tables, shelves, and a bar counter, along with the repair and renovation of the old powerhouse. Key repairs were also undertaken, including drainage systems, college ceilings, door k***s, roofing, water lines, and faucets. Additionally, the section repainted several college buildings and installed tarpaulins for campus events and announcements.

These efforts reflect the team's dedication to enhancing the university's functionality, safety, and aesthetics, contributing to CBSUA's commitment to excellence.

𝐏𝐏𝐃𝐒 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

Under the leadership of Engr. Dino Jose M. Relativo, Director of the PPDS, the office recently underwent a comprehensive audit of its transactions and documents. The audit was conducted by the external auditor Engr. Xylene Tagorio and involved detailed scrutiny of the operations across three key sections: Repair and Maintenance, Janitorial Services, and the Motorpool Section.

During the audit, the section in-charge, Mr. Mc Wilson Decena (Repair and Maintenance), Ms. Diana Jane Barretto (Janitorial Services), and Engr. Joseph Lonuel Olvara (Unit Head of the Electrical Section), provided thorough explanations and defended the practices of their respective sections. Their dedication and transparency were crucial in showcasing the office's adherence to standard procedures.

Also present at the audit were Engr. Kriyzll Lumbo, Director of the IPDO, and Dr. Cherry Love Montales, Internal/External Assistant Director of the Quality Assurance Office. Their support and guidance were instrumental in ensuring a smooth audit process.

The audit concluded successfully, with Engr. Tagorio offers valuable suggestions for improvements. Overall, the office was found to be in compliance with the University’s standard processes, reflecting the hard work and commitment of the entire PPDS team.

The PPDS Electrical Section has made the CBSUA campus sparkle this holiday season with the installation of a giant Christmas tree and Christmas lights in front of the Administration Building. They have also installed beautiful Christmas lights around the CBSUA gates and benches, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.

The CBSUA NTEA volunteers, led by our Campus Administration, took charge of decorating the tree, adding a touch of holiday magic. Their combined efforts have made the campus a joyous and bright place for everyone to enjoy.

In anticipation of Typhoon Pepito’s potential impact, the CBSUA Physical Plant Development and Services has mobilized its Carpentry, Electrical, and Janitorial Services Unit to secure campus buildings and facilities.

The Electrical Services Section has installed additional emergency lights in key areas, such as security stations and designated evacuation centers, to ensure adequate visibility during power interruptions. Meanwhile, the Carpentry and Janitorial teams have worked collaboratively to board up doors and windows with plywood to minimize damage from strong winds.

Precautions have also been taken to secure sensitive equipment. Computer laboratories, televisions, Iwata fans, and other electrical devices have been turned off and safeguarded to prevent damage. Windows across all buildings have been firmly closed to reduce exposure to potential debris.

Engr. Dino Jose M. Relativo, Director of the Physical Plant Development and Services (PPDS) and University Safety Officer, issued an advisory reminding all university personnel to take proactive measures in securing their offices.

CBSUA’s coordinated efforts highlight its commitment to the safety and welfare of its community, ensuring that the campus is ready for any eventualities brought by Typhoon Pepito.
