The Federation of Supreme Student Council โ€“ CBSUA proudly joins the celebration of Pride Month, standing in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirming our commitment to promoting respect, equality, and inclusivity for all. As we raise the colors of Pride, we recognize the importance of creating spaces where every individual is free to live authentically, without fear of discrimination or prejudice.

Pride is not just a celebrationโ€”it is a protest. It is a reflection of the courage, struggles, and resilience of generations who fought and continue to fight for equal rights and recognition. This month, we honor not only the achievements of the LGBTQIA+ community but also the challenges they have endured in their pursuit of dignity, acceptance, and justice. We also recognize the continuing call for the passage of the SOGIE Equality Bill, a measure that seeks to protect individuals from discrimination based on s*xual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and s*x characteristics.

As we celebrate Pride Month, may we move beyond symbolic support and become active advocates for understanding, inclusion, and equal opportunity. Let us stand together in building a society where diversity is celebrated, human rights are upheld, and every person is treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

As the 4-day implementation of PROJECT FIRST AID officially concludes, the Federation of Supreme Student Council proudly extends its sincerest gratitude to every Statean who becomes part of this meaningful initiative.

With the theme, โ€œStrengthening Stateans: Donating Essential Rescue Supplies to our Rescue Heroes,โ€ PROJECT FIRST AID successfully reaches the four campuses of the university โ€” beginning at CBSUA Calabanga Campus on May 19, followed by CBSUA Pasacao Campus on May 20, CBSUA Sipocot Campus on May 21, and culminating at CBSUA Pili Campus on May 22.

This initiative becomes possible because of the collective support, trust, and contributions of the student body through the FSSC Fee. Through your contributions, essential rescue supplies and emergency response equipment are successfully procured and distributed to the CRCYC, Gryphon Fire Volunteers, and DRROU โ€” organizations that continuously dedicate their time, effort, and courage in serving and protecting the CBSUA community during emergencies and disasters.

However, the Federation Supreme Student Council also emphasizes: These projects are not favors โ€” they are part of the mandate entrusted to us by the students. The FSSC Fee exists to be transformed into programs, initiatives, and services that directly benefit the welfare, safety, and well-being of the CBSUA ccommunity.

We simply believe that every contribution from the students deserves to be returned through genuine service, meaningful action, and initiatives that create real impact.

The Federation Supreme Student Council also expresses its heartfelt appreciation to all volunteers and individuals behind the success of this project. Your dedication, cooperation, and commitment in ensuring the smooth implementation of the activity across all campuses truly embody the spirit of service and bayanihan.

Special recognition is also given to the Overall Activity Chairperson, Hon. Shaina Mae L. Arenillo, for her leadership, hard work, and commitment in spearheading PROJECT FIRST AID from planning to implementation. The council also extends its appreciation to the Co-Activity Chairpersons from the different campuses: Hon. Margaux Beatriz N**o, Calabanga Campus, Hon. Ar-jay Moya, Pasacao Campus, Hon. Carl Angelo Ocampo, Sipocot Campus, and Hon. Keanu Charlize Villegas, Pili Campus. Your efforts, dedication, and willingness to serve greatly contribute to the success and impact of this initiative.

Project First Aid stands as a reminder that student leadership is not merely about holding positions, but about creating programs that respond to the real needs of the community. Through unity, compassion, and collective action, we continue to strengthen our campus responders and promote a safer and more prepared CBSUA community.

To every Statean who supports and believes in the purpose of student service, thank you for allowing us to serve you.

Together, we strengthen our rescue heroes. Together, we build a safer, more prepared, and more resilient CBSUA community.

๐’๐“๐€๐“๐„๐€๐๐’ ๐…๐ˆ๐‘๐’๐“: Proponents of Project First Aid Call for Stronger Support for Student Volunteers

The Federation of Supreme Student Council successfully concluded the final leg of PROJECT FIRST AID through the distribution of first aid and emergency response items at the Evacuation Center, CBSUA-Pili Main Campus. The activity was attended by representatives from three volunteer organizations: the CBSUA-Pili College Red Cross Youth Council, Gryphon Fire Volunteer and Rescue CBSUA-Pili, and the CBSUA Disaster Response and Recovery Operation Unit.

In his welcoming remarks, VPSA Villegas and Project Co-Chairperson emphasized the vital role of volunteer organizations and the spirit of volunteerism within the university and the wider community. He clarified that the resources utilized for the project came directly from the studentsโ€™ semesterly contributions to the FSSC fund. He stressed that no officer should personally take credit for the initiative, as serving the student body and implementing projects that directly benefit the constituents remain fundamental responsibilities of student leaders.

As he stated:

Drawing from their own experiences as volunteers, the organizers also highlighted the continuing struggles faced by student volunteers. It was emphasized that volunteers often remain a minority in institutional policies and projects and are rarely prioritized as beneficiaries of university initiatives. One volunteer shared that this was the first time they had received items and support specifically intended for volunteers from the FSSCโ€”and only now, nearing graduation.

Meanwhile, Sen. Arenillo, the Overall Chairperson, reiterated that this initiative should not be the first and last effort of its kind, but rather the beginning of sustained support for all student volunteers in the university. She further emphasized that without supporting volunteers, there would be no one prepared to provide emergency response, first aid, and disaster assistance to the community during times of crisis.

Although they are continuously being tapped for university and community activities, volunteers remain underfunded and underappreciated, with limited institutional mechanisms to safeguard their welfare, safety, and operational readiness during disasters and emergencies.

Despite these challenges, the volunteer organizations vowed to continue extending their service and support to the students of the CBSUA community and remain committed to helping those in need.

Through this four-day implementation, essential rescue supplies and emergency response equipment will be distributed to organizations such as the CRCYC, Gryphon Fire Volunteers, and DRROU โ€” student-led responders who continuously dedicate their service to protecting the CBSUA community during emergencies and disasters.

Project First Aid aims to strengthen the operational capacity of these organizations by equipping them with the necessary tools and resources needed for immediate response, proper patient handling, and emergency stabilization. More than a donation drive, this initiative stands as a commitment to preparedness, resilience, and the welfare of every Statean.

As the country continues to face natural and man-made calamities, the Federation Supreme Student Council believes that investing in emergency readiness is investing in lives. Through collective action and service, this project hopes to foster a stronger culture of safety, compassion, and responsibility within the university community.

Together, let us strengthen our rescue heroes and build a safer, more prepared, and more resilient CBSUA community.
