As part of the Opening Block of the 2026-2027 school year, an orientation on proper handwashing and toothbrushing was conducted to promote good hygiene practices among learners. The activity aimed to help pupils understand the importance of maintaining personal cleanliness and preventing the spread of illnesses.

The session began with a discussion on the importance of handwashing, especially before eating, after using the restroom, and after playing or touching dirty surfaces. Learners were taught the proper steps of handwashing, including wetting the hands, applying soap, scrubbing all parts of the hands for at least 20 seconds, rinsing thoroughly, and drying with a clean towel or tissue. A demonstration was conducted, followed by a hands-on practice to ensure that learners could perform the steps correctly.

The learners were also taught the proper way of brushing their teeth. The discussion emphasized the importance of brushing at least twice a day to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Through a demonstration, learners learned the correct brushing technique, including brushing the outer, inner, and chewing surfaces of the teeth using gentle circular motions. They were also reminded to use the appropriate amount of toothpaste and to rinse properly after brushing.

The activity was actively participated in by the learners, who showed enthusiasm and interest throughout the session. Through demonstrations and guided practice, the pupils gained valuable knowledge and skills that will help them develop healthy hygiene habits.
