Innovating Today, Sustaining Tomorrow: Piddig NHS Excels at the 2025 SDOIN Science Fiesta
Piddig National High School proudly showcased its scientific spirit and excellence during the 2025 SDOIN Science Fiesta held last October 10โ12, 2025, at Bingao National High School. Guided by the theme โInnovating Today, Sustaining Tomorrow,โ the three-day event brought together young innovators and passionate educators in a celebration of creativity, discovery, and collaboration.
The school proudly achieved 4th Runner-Up in the Secondary Level Category and 5th Place in the Learnersโ Category, marking another milestone in our pursuit of excellence in science and technology.
Leading the list of achievements is the MuScikLaban Team, composed of Jhon Jever V. Andres, Zerrah Ann V. Bartolome, Elyka Shanel R. Ancheta, Maja M. Sagun, Kurt John O. Baliza, Carl Vinz Baliza, and Ezekiel Geronimo, who brought home First Place under the guidance of Mr. Jay J. Cruz. Their performance harmoniously blended science and artistry, earning them the title.
In the field of writing, Jillian Lagasca claimed 2nd Place in SciTech Writing (English Category), while Jacob Ckylee Londono represented the school in the Filipino Category, both mentored by Ms. Sheila Mae M. Colobong. Their works demonstrated how science and communication can unite to inspire others.
Our future scientists also made their mark in other events: Daile Monique V. Hernaez (JHS) and Clouiesa Angela N. Salud with Chareina Keith C. Corpuz (SHS) showcased their creativity in STEMTokperiment, coached by Mr. Jay J. Cruz, Ms. Marjorie Laureta, and Ms. Rachelle Anne Ganal.
Jesh Russell Gaspar, under Mrs. Maribel A. Aspili, represented the school in SciTalk, while Maja M. Sagun, guided by Ms. Clarissa Paraiso, displayed her skills in SciVideo Making.
The SciSpotlight Team composed of Miakha Shercess A. Albano, Gillian Zoie M. Luzon, and Sheena Shane J. Pisco, guided by Ms. Maryknoll D. Cariaga and Ms. Francess Johanna F. Dela Fuente brought energy and enthusiasm to the said event, while Jigo Wayne Andres and Megan Nicole Jose represented the school with pride and environmental advocacy in Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan 2025, coached by Mrs. Suerte Famela Corcino, Mrs. Marisal I. Nicolas, and Mrs. Alma Villa Pascual.
Beyond the competitions, our student campers โ Shaina Cassandra Castillo, Mark Lesly L. Agustin, Antoinette Estabillo, Axeceen Joy B. Fortuso, Danica Izabelle T. Balguna, Paula Estabillo, Myca Angel Domingo, Jhonamel C. Hidalgo, Florivale M. Palafox, Monianne Jade G. Pascual, Fea Nery C. Agustin, and Janiah Venice B. Factor actively participated in seminars, Adopt-a-Zone, Laro ng Lahi, and other science-related activities that promoted teamwork, leadership, and environmental awareness.
Teacher also excelled in the Demonstration Teaching with Ms. Clarissa Paraiso (Grade 12) securing 2nd Place, Ms. Rachelle Anne Ganal (Grade 12) placing 5th, and Ms. Sheila Mae M. Colobong (Grade 10) also earning 5th Place; a reflection of Piddig NHSโs strong teaching force and commitment to scientific excellence.
The success of the PNHS delegation was made possible through the strong leadership of Mr. Jesse Juan Y. Villaluz (School Principal IV), Mr. Marcos Antonio (Head Teacher III), and Ms. Dinah B. Dumlao (Master Teacher II in Science), whose guidance and support greatly inspired both learners and teachers.
The 2025 SDOIN Science Fiesta was more than just a competitionโit was a platform for learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
