Another productive afternoon at Piddig National High School! โœจ

On August 13, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., the DRRM, Red Cross Youth Council (RCYC), Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), and 4H Club came together for Project U.B.R.A. โ€“ Clean-Up Drive.

With the support of our School Principal IV, Mr. Jesse Juan Y. Villaluz, and our School Nurse, everyone worked together in cleaning and taking care of different areas around the school. ๐Ÿงน๐ŸŒฑ

It may have been just one hour, but every effort counted in making our school a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable place for everyone. More than just cleaning, this activity was about teamwork, bayanihan, and taking responsibility for the environment we share. ๐Ÿ’š

A heartfelt thank you to our School Principal IV, Mr. Jesse Juan Y. Villaluz, our School Nurse, and everyone who participated for their time, guidance, and support. Your efforts truly made a difference! ๐Ÿคโœจ

When we think about disaster preparation, we often think about flashlights, whistles and evacuation routes. But one of the most powerful protections against any crisis is adequate nutrition. The Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) starts from within; a healthy body and a sharp mind are the first lines of defense when a disaster occurs. By putting high-nutrient, high-energy and sustainable food at the centre of our emergency kits and supporting sustainable local food sources, we ensure that our families have endurance to live and recover. Disaster resilience is not just a way to survive a storm, but a way to build a strong, healthy foundation today so that we can recover faster tomorrow.

Piddig National High School successfully took part in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held today, September 10, 2025. This important activity was led by the school's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Officers, headed by President Jamilah Gaspar, together with the Red Cross Youth (RCY) Officers, led by President Jhonamel Hidalgo and also Mrs. Luisa Bernabe Pascua, RN.

At exactly 9:00 AM, the school alarm signaled the start of the drill. All students, teachers, and staff quickly did the "Drop, Cover, and Hold" procedure, followed by an orderly evacuation to the schoolโ€™s open grounds. Everyone followed the safety steps carefully and calmly.

School Principal IV Mr. Jesse Juan Y. Villaluz praised the efforts of the DRRM and RCY teams, as well as the cooperation of all students and teachers. The principal reminded everyone that being prepared can help save lives during real emergencies like earthquakes.

After the drill, the DRRM and RCY officers reviewed how the activity went and shared reminders to improve even more in future drills.

By joining the NSED, Piddig National High School shows its strong commitment to keeping students and staff safe and ready for any emergency.

In its unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of safety and resilience, Piddig National High School (PNHS), under the exemplary leadership of School Principal IV Mr. Jesse Juan Y. Villaluz, conducted a meticulously coordinated Simultaneous Earthquake Drill today.

This vital exercise was executed in close collaboration with the Red Cross Youth (RCY), the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Officers led by School Nurse II Mrs. Maria Luisa P. Bernabe, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) โ€” Piddig Station, ensuring a comprehensive approach to campus safety.

At precisely 9:30 AM, the campus-wide alarm system sounded, prompting learners, faculty, and staff to immediately implement the โ€œDuck, Cover, and Holdโ€ protocol. Following this, all participants evacuated calmly and efficiently to pre-assigned safe zones, demonstrating commendable discipline and readiness.

Throughout the drill, RCY volunteers provided practical demonstrations on first aid techniques, enhancing the participantsโ€™ emergency response capabilities. Simultaneously, the DRRM officers diligently monitored the evacuation process to evaluate its effectiveness and adherence to safety standards. BFP personnel observed and assessed the entire simulation, lauding PNHS for its prompt and orderly ex*****on. One officer underscored the significance of such preparedness, remarking, โ€œThe drills we conduct today are the lifesaving measures of tomorrow.โ€

A thorough debriefing followed the drill, during which both the commendable efforts of students and staff were acknowledged, and valuable recommendations were discussed to further strengthen future disaster response initiatives.

This proactive and well-executed drill exemplifies PNHSโ€™s steadfast dedication to ensuring the safety, welfare, and resilience of its entire school community.

๐Ÿšจ Fire Drill: Prepared and Safe! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Today, March 26, 2025, Piddig National High School successfully conducted a fire drill with the guidance of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) led by SFO1 Michael John T. Silvestre, FO2 Russel Helendro B. Daoang, FO1 Dei Gracia C. Caberto, and FO1 John Patrick Rowie L. Marcos.

This drill trained students, to respond quickly and safely during a fire. The BFP team demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers and shared essential safety tips.

A big thank you to the DRRM officers, RCY officers, and our adviser, Mrs. Maria Luisa Pascua Bernabe, for their cooperation and support. Letโ€™s stay alert, stay safe, and always be prepared! ๐Ÿงฏ๐Ÿš’
