LOOK I Advancing Evidence-Based Education: San Juan West Sub-Office Pre-Evaluation of Research 2026

The San Juan West Sub-Office successfully conducted the Pre-Evaluation of Research as part of the 2026 Research Caravan, with a theme, "Navigating the Currents of Change: Data-Driven Pathways for the 5-Point DepEd Reform Agenda", on August 15, 2026, at El Jardin De Zaida, Abung, San Juan, Batangas.

Bringing together school heads, research focal persons, evaluators, research proponents, resource speakers, and technical working groups, headed by the Public Schools District Supervisor, Sarah Saguin; this initiative strengthened the culture of quality research, innovation, and continuous improvement within the education community.

The activity highlighted the commitment of San Juaneño educators in generating meaningful, data-driven solutions that enhance teaching practices and learner outcomes.

Through collaborative evaluation and constructive feedback, research outputs are refined and prepared for the 2026 Division Research Caravan, paving the way for stronger, more responsive, and evidence-based educational practices.

San Juan West Sub-Office launched Project TALA (Texts for Advanced Literacy and Achievement)—a meaningful step toward strengthening every learner’s reading journey and building a culture of lifelong literacy on August 12, 2026.

Anchored on the vision of developing proficient, strategic, and independent readers, Project TALA brings together assessment-based interventions, structured reading activities, and collaborative efforts among schools, families, and communities to improve learners’ reading fluency and comprehension.

Through this initiative, every learner is given the opportunity to shine, grow, and achieve excellence—one text, one reading experience, and one learner at a time.

The San Juan West Sub-Office proudly congratulates Hon. Sonia D. Samarita, School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) President of Don Eulogio Luistro Elementary School and Municipal Federation of Parent-Teacher Associations (MFPTA) President of San Juan, on her election as Treasurer of the Provincial Federation of Parents Teachers Association (PFPTA) for SY 2026–2027, during the PFPTA Election and Forum held on August 13, 2026, in Malvar, Batangas.

JUST IN I San Juan West School Heads on Monitoring and School Security Planning

"A safe school is built through shared responsibility, strong leadership, and continuous collaboration."

On July 31, 2026, the school heads of San Juan West Elementary and Secondary Schools gathered for a meaningful out of town, collaborative meeting at Villa Escudero, Tiaong, Quezon to discuss key strategies on monitoring, school security planning, and strengthening school management practices.

The activity served as a venue for school leaders to share insights, align initiatives, and develop proactive measures that promote a safer, more responsive, and learner-centered school environment.

Guided by the leadership and support of Ma’am Sarah Saguin, Public Schools District Supervisor, the collaborative effort highlights the importance of unity, preparedness, and shared commitment in achieving quality education and effective school governance.

Together, we continue to strengthen our schools—building safer spaces, empowering leaders, and creating a better future for every learner.

The Municipal PTA Federation Election for S.Y. 2026–2027 was successfully conducted on July 28, 2026, at the San Juan West Cultural Hall. The event brought together PTA officers from San Juan East and West Sub-Offices under the leadership of Public Schools District Supervisors, Dr. Ellienor D. Peña and Dr. Sarah Saguin.

The activity included registration, opening program, recognition of PTA presidents, inspirational messages, presentation of accomplishment and financial reports, the election proper, and the formal presentation of the newly elected Municipal PTA Federation officers.

The San Juan West PTA Federation Election was successfully conducted on July 28, 2026, at the San Juan West Cultural Hall.

On July 22, 2026, at 8:00 AM, the Provincial School Board (PSB) Batangas formally conducted the Ceremonial Turnover of Educational Smart TVs at the PSB Batangas Office. The activity was led by Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, in coordination with Schools Division Superintendent, Marites A. Ibañez, CESO V, and attended by school heads, education officials, and other stakeholders. The ceremonial turnover highlighted the Provincial Government of Batangas' continuing commitment to improving the quality of education through the provision of modern instructional technologies. The Educational Smart TVs were distributed to selected public schools to strengthen digital learning, promote interactive classroom instruction, and enhance learners' engagement through the integration of technology in teaching and learning.
During the program, Governor Vilma Santos-Recto emphasized the importance of investing in educational resources that prepare learners for the demands of the 21st century. Likewise, Dr. Marites A. Ibañez expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Government and the Provincial School Board for their unwavering support in advancing quality education and equipping schools with innovative learning tools.
As part of this initiative, schools under the San Juan West Sub-Office were among the recipients of the Educational Smart TVs, including Paaralang Elementarya ng Buhaynasapa and Calabasahan Elementary School. These schools are expected to maximize the use of the Smart TVs in delivering interactive lessons, enhancing learners' participation, and improving the overall teaching and learning experience. The successful conduct of the turnover ceremony demonstrated the strong partnership between the Provincial Government of Batangas and the Department of Education in ensuring that public schools have access to essential educational technologies. The Educational Smart TVs will serve as valuable instructional tools that support curriculum delivery, foster digital literacy, and create more engaging and learner-centered classroom environments.
Overall, the Ceremonial Turnover of Educational Smart TVs marks another significant milestone in the shared mission of providing quality, inclusive, and technology-enabled education for every Batangueño learner. Through initiatives such as this, the Provincial School Board continues to empower schools and educators in building a brighter future for the youth of Batangas.
