𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗡, 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 — The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), in close coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), officially launched its first day of specialized safety training today, aimed at equipping local youths with critical life-saving skills.

The initiative seeks to provide learners and youths across the municipality with foundational knowledge in fire prevention, suppression techniques, and emergency first aid.

According to BFP personnel, the program was designed to transform the town's youth into proactive first responders during community crises.

Day one of the multi-part training series focused on theoretical introductions to fire behavior and hands-on demonstrations of basic rope rescue technique.

Present among attendees are learners from Igburi National High School, Aureliana National High School, Scouts, and youths in the aforementioned municipality.

Pursuant to the directive of Mayor Johnnyflores S. Bacongallo, face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private schools in the Municipality of Patnongon are hereby suspended and shifted to Modular Distance Learning today, July 8, 2026, as a precautionary measure due to the heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by Bagyong Inday.

Learners, parents, and school personnel are advised to coordinate with their respective schools regarding the implementation of modular learning. Everyone is likewise encouraged to stay indoors, monitor official weather advisories, and take the necessary precautions.

Mayor Johnnyflores S. Bacongallo suspends face-to-face (F2F) classes at all levels on June 24, 2026 (Wednesday).

This suspension of classes is issued upon the recommendation of the MDRRMO. With the expected heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Tropical Cyclone “Francisco”, the LGU prioritizes the safety and convenience of our learners, especially those coming from upland barangays.

All schools are advised to shift to modular distance learning or any appropriate alternative delivery mode for the day.
