Today marks a momentous occasion for the Sulu Provincial Library and the literary community as we celebrate the Extension Community Service and Book Launching Program. Under the esteemed leadership of Director Ibnorasad Indal, and in collaboration with the Office of Internationalization and College of Health Sciences of Mindanao State University-Sulu, the library has become a vibrant hub for knowledge and community engagement.
The highlight of today's event is the launch of the groundbreaking book, "Care for Older Persons in the Philippines: Principles and Practices in Nursing." This collaborative effort showcases the expertise and dedication of esteemed authors from various institutions: the College of Health Sciences at Mindanao State University-Sulu, Sulu State College, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, and the Sanguninang Bayan ng Talipao.
Leading this remarkable team is Dr. Magna Anissa Edding Aming-Hayudini, whose vision and expertise have guided this project to fruition. Joining her are co-authors Dr. Shohadaa Hayudini Bulon-Mandangan, Dr. Casma Sali Mercado, Prof. Ziradar M. Adjilani-Misah, Prof. Elenita C. Tan, Dr. Aldrin M. Jikirani, Dr. Ayesha Pesy Warid-Sahial, Prof. Kamala Sangkula Elam, and Prof. Ledina P. Warid, each bringing unique perspectives and insights to this vital work.
This project has garnered tremendous support from key figures in the academic and local government sectors.
As we extend our gratitude to Prof. Nursidar Mukattil, CHS Dean at MSU-Sulu; Dr. Nagder J. Abdurahman, Chancellor II at MSU-Sulu; Dr. Charisma Ututalum, President of Sulu State College; Dr. Alijandrina Tan Jalilul, Dean of the College of Nursing; and Mayor Reham Tulawie of Talipao, for their unwavering commitment to this endeavor.
"Care for Older Persons in the Philippines" promises to be an invaluable resource for healthcare professionals, students, and anyone dedicated to improving the lives of our elderly population. It is a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of addressing the unique needs of our aging community. This book is published by FSH Publisher managed by Dr. F. Mobo.

On October 16, 2025, the Director for Internationalization (Dr. Magna Anissa E. Aming-Hayudini) was invited by the Office of the Ministry of Interior and Local Government of Sulu (Ma'am Emini T. Kadiri and her executive assistance (Ma'am Muksan and focal person (Mr. Tahil) to receive a Certificate of Award as an evaluator for the Provincial Search for Model Barangay 2025, held on October 15, 2025, in Barangay Sanraymundo and Barangay Tanduh Patong.
SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities)â Evaluating the Model Barangay search promotes resilient, inclusive, and wellâgoverned local communities.
SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)â MSUâSuluâs engagement with the DILGâSulu office strengthens interâinstitutional collaboration, reinforcing the universityâs internationalization agenda.

SDG 3 (Good Health and WellâBeing) â Conducting a boardâstyle evaluation in Maternal Nursing directly supports quality health education, ensuring students are prepared to provide safe, effective care for mothers and newborns, which aligns with the College of Health Sciencesâ focus on SDG 3.
SDG 4 (Quality Education) â Using common board questions enhances rigorous, competencyâbased learning, promoting equitable and inclusive education for BSN Level II students and strengthening the universityâs commitment to SDG 4.
These SDG connections show how the evaluation activity reinforces MSUâSuluâs emphasis on healthârelated and educational sustainability goals.

"Yesterday, I was invited by DILG/MILG Provincial Director Ma'am Emini Tuttuh-Kadiri and Dr. Ayesha P. Warid-Sahial for a Barangay Assessment on Social Sciences, which includes Academe, Safety and Security, and Health.
As a public administration graduate, nurse, and education holder, I was able to execute my role as an evaluator with ease and confidence.
I am thankful to the DILG/MILG of Sulu and all their staff and personnel for the opportunity. I also appreciate the warm welcome from Barangay Sanraymundo PB Kah Kim Uddin and his lovely wife Indah Queenie and their officials, staff, and personnel, as well as Barangay Tanduh Patung PB.
These two barangays are epitomes of good performance in the realm of public governance.
Evaluaters were from CSO, Academe, League of Barangay Officer, and from the Provincial Level.
