September 23, 2026 โ€” The Pateros Catholic School (PCS) Mallards faced St. Ives School in the Group of Private School Owners and Administrators (GPSOA) Basketball Boys game held at the West Rembo Complex in Taguig City.

St. Ives gained an early advantage, building a 13-point lead over the Mallards. Despite the deficit, PCS fought back, shifting between quick offensive plays and tight defense to keep the pace with their opponents. However, St. Ives maintained its lead and continued to capitalize on its early advantage.

In the second quarter, the Mallards continued to battle despite the scoring gap and challenges on the court. PCS strengthened its defense by working to block St. Ives' shots while creating more opportunities on offense and adding points to the scoreboard.

After the halftime break, the Mallards returned with renewed energy and momentum, matching the intensity of St. Ives' play. PCS put up a strong fight and continued to narrow the gap, but St. Ives held on to its lead and maintained its advantage.

The Mallards came alive in the fourth quarter, with their offense gaining speed and consistency. Their efforts allowed PCS to catch up and put pressure on St. Ives until the final minutes of the game.

Despite the Mallards' late push, St. Ives secured the victory, 59โ€“49.
Despite the final result, the Mallardsโ€™ determination remained evident throughout the game. With more matches ahead, PCS will continue to learn, improve, and return to the court ready to give their all.
