What is the purpose of celebrating the United Nations?
In a way, United Nations Day commemorates the formation of a new era in history – an era where equality, peace, and cooperation are valued above war. It signifies that humans can come together united by their shared values of love, justice, and peace and that we can fight for our rights together.

DID YOU KNOW? On this month, the first Filipina member of the Cabinet was appointed? And she was a colleague of Ramon Magsaysay when he was Defense Secretary.
Learn more about her in our webinar, “ASUNCION ARRIOLA-PEREZ: The Country’s First Woman Cabinet Secretary” which will air on our page on Thursday, 28 September 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
Mr. Eufemio O Agbayani III, the Historic Sites Development Officer II from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, will discuss the life, qualities exemplify and contributions of Asuncion Arriola-Perez not just as a leader in government but as an organizer and women's rights advocate. Her appointment is a step towards greater inclusivity for women in our society.
This webinar is organized in celebration of Civil Service Month created by President Fidel V. Ramos through Proclamation No. 1050 in 1997. This year's theme focuses on the importance of cultivating dynamism of government workers to foster sustainable management and organizational resilience.
The webinar is also in continuing celebration of the 125th anniversary of Protestant Christianity in the Philippines, especially since Perez was a very active member of the Methodist Church.
