PCS Celebrates Teamwork and Culinary Skills at Cook Fest
The cooking competition was held on September 18, 2026, as part of the First Term celebration of the 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Pateros Catholic School. The activity aimed to promote unity and teamwork among the participating groups by assigning different responsibilities, such as cooking, preparing ingredients, cleaning, and presenting their dishes.
The emcees for this particular event were Nathan Miguel Eoy and Felicity Amber Santos. Soon after introducing themselves, an opening prayer was led by Mr. Alvin A. Altarejos.
Right after, the rules for the contest were given in order to maintain a sense of verity and truth in the results of the contest. The judges were then introduced, and the cooking contest, the center of the event, started.
There were five teams participating in the event, each consisting of two Grade 5 pupils and four high school students, with each high school student being between Grades 10 and 12.
The groups were originally given only one hour and 30 minutes to cook an appetizer, a main dish, and a dessert. The groups all worked hard within the limited time frame and with all the other resources given to them.
Soon after, the School Director, Rev. Fr. B. Barrameda, gave words of thanks to the people who actively participated in the event.
After that, awards were given to each group that participated in the event, which also included the participants of the Quiz Bee that happened that day.
Team 2 was the second runner-up, Team 5 was the first runner-up, and Team 1 was the overall winner of the contest.
Team 1 consisted of Julia G. Balocating of Grade 5–St. Hilary; Nishandee Reige A. Alaras, also a Grade 5 student in St. Hilary; Maria Samantha M. Hernandez from Grade 10–St. Sebastian; Maria Ayessa M. Hernandez, a Grade 10–St. Sebastian pupil; Sophia Venice G. Ponce of Grade 12–St. Honore of Amiens; and Viggo Mikhail B. Yambao.
Closing remarks were given by Ms. Melane Datu, and soon after, an acknowledgment was given by Mr. Geremie Rosalejos. The Alma Mater song was sung, and the closing prayer was led by Erin Molvizar.
