A student leader is not about the position, it is all about the responsibilities you can do passionately. It is not hard nor easy but it will challenge you as a person on how you manage your time, how long is your patience and on how you become reliable at all times.
As students, the very first moment we entered the school we already accepted responsibilities such as making progress towards self and studies, learning the good values and coping up with the challenges in life as we are out of our comfort zones and now conquering the outside world.
As SSGs, we accepted the challenge to lead and help our fellow students in any way we can provide. We gave our time to serve because we knew that it was worth it. We believed in ourselves despite all the criticisms we got. We also sought and strived for a change. Guys, we did our best to make something better. But yeah, we admit that we didn't reach your expectations and as role models, we definitely failed in that part.
But, time made us realise that it wasn't only us who failed. You also failed because you wanted a change you neglected to have within yourselves. You wanted to progress but you put aside your studies for something else. You wanted a better environment but you couldn’t put your garbage on the bin, you cut your classes, you choose not to wear your uniforms and IDs, you make dramas inside the campus and you complain a lot. What have you done so far? What have you contributed to the betterment of this school?
In this year's election, think more about what you can contribute for a change. This is not only about the leaders because they all possess something to deserve the responsibilities. This is also about you, as a student, because change start within ourselves.
P.s. Please, complain when you have done something not when you did nothing.
