"June 2026 PMI results showed different movements across the three major sectors.

Manufacturing: 48.60, up from 48.38
Retail-Wholesale: 46.73, down from 47.53
Services: 49.72, down from 53.79

Manufacturing recorded a slower rate of contraction. Retail-Wholesale remained below 50 for a fifth consecutive month, while Services returned to contraction after two months of expansion.

The results show why sector-level PMI data are important: changes in overall business conditions may not be experienced uniformly across the economy.
