It aims to contribute in heightening the civic and political consciousness of UA&P students and its immediate community, in general. Through its projects and programs, POLIS promotes the importance of analyzing societal issues through a multidisciplinary perspective โ€“ that

is, employing tools from different fields of knowledge in order to better understand the current dynamics of the society.

Founded in 2013, the ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐†๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž (๐’๐๐†) at the University of Asia and the Pacific celebrates its 13th Foundation Day today, June 22.

As we also honor St. Thomas More, the patron saint of public servants and politicians, may we reflect on the values of integrity, accountability, and service that lie at the heart of ethical leadership and good governance.

In a time when the principles of democracy, accountability, and civic engagement are continually tested, may we remain diligent in upholding good governance and service to the common good. Guided by our commitment to #๐„๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ž, #๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ž, and #๐„๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ, let us continue forming citizens who are not only competent, but also principled, compassionate, and dedicated to creating meaningful change in society.

POLIS hosted its second field trip of the year at the Supreme Court of the Philippines last April 22!

Members from both Junior Colleges and the undergraduate programs explored the SC building, and engaged in discussions on the history of the judiciary and of the court. This was then followed by a Q&A session with a practicing court attorney.

We extend our gratitude to the Supreme Court and its staff for the opportunity to immerse in the practices of the judiciary.

We celebrate the importance of labor and recognize the ordinary sacrifices behind the country we enjoy today. We value their work, but beyond this, we value their rights as personsโ€”to fair wages, to workplace safety, to rest.
