The Kapitolyans took on another challenge! The Kapitolyo High School students once again participated in Brainiac Year 4: Clash of the Sci-Tech Champs, an extraordinary competition where you truly experience the battle of minds and perseverance.

It was truly an honor for the contestant to be part of the Brainiac Quiz Bowl. Before the competition, the coaches and teachers lent their time despite schedule conflicts, preparing and reviewing the contestants so they would be able to qualify for the finals. Upon arriving at the venue, the student participants were able to meet a plethora of students from different schools, all competing for the same goal. The team was instantly overcome with a mix of nervousness and excitement. From the very start of the competition, the contestants felt the weight of pressure as they faced well‑prepared and highly capable students from other schools and clusters. Yet, the months of preparation they had invested enabled them to draw upon their knowledge with confidence, and each round became a true measure of their readiness across the diverse subject areas covered in the quiz bowl.

They put their knowledge and wits in the fields that they had studied weeks before the event. After countless training sessions, intricate calculations, and strenuous reviews, the Kapitolyans’ perseverance finally bore fruit. They advanced to the Brainiac Finals under the Quiz Bowl category. Among the many schools in the PAMAMARISAN cluster (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan), the team secured a place in the top sixteen, proudly ranking 11th. That single moment blurred the line between anticipation and reality. Cold hands, loud beating hearts, and phones ready for pictures filled the room as they waited for the list of qualifiers to appear on the screen. Time felt so long while staring at it. Then suddenly, screams erupted with inexplicable emotions and reactions as the names of the contestants flashed on the list. At that moment, they knew that they were ready to take on more after-class training, reviews, and sessions to reach the ultimate goal: to bag the championship title of Brainiac Year 4: Clash of the Sci-Tech Champs Quiz Bowl.

This was not just a simple competition that lasted a day for the student contestants, but rather a memory and life experience that taught countless lessons. It showed how teamwork and individuality are both important and how to be responsible and disciplined, especially during review sessions. None of this would have been possible without the help, persistence, and trust of their coaches, Mr. Arman Jeresano, Mr. C-Jay Fernando, and Mr. Ryan Estolatan. They had believed in the team from the very beginning and guided them toward this achievement. The Kapitolyans extend their deepest and most sincere gratitude to them, as well as to their esteemed School Principal, Ma’am Maricris O. Murillo

The Brainiac Clash of Sci-Tech Champs is more than just a competition. It showcases growth, resilience, and camaraderie among students. It inspires them to push past limits and value learning over distraction. It champions STEM (science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), thus training and producing students who are adept future Engineers, Scientists, and Inventors who can advance Education, Agriculture, Social services, Healthcare, and many others in the country. Ultimately, this will not only benefit the students in the long run but also the Philippines as a whole.
