Mind Matters: Mental Health Awareness, Anti-Bullying, and Anti-Drug Addiction Seminar

On August 4, 2026, the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (SDRRMC), in partnership with Global Surge and GPro Ministry Event, conducted a Mental Health Awareness, Anti-Bullying, and Anti-Drug Addiction Seminar at the Buting Senior High School Gymnasium. The event was organized to provide students with valuable knowledge and awareness regarding mental health, bullying prevention, and the harmful effects of drug addiction. It also aimed to encourage students to develop healthy coping mechanisms, make responsible decisions, and create a safe and supportive school environment.

The program started with the Opening Remarks delivered by Mr. Win Lascuรฑa, followed by an Inspirational Message from Mrs. Jan Rhesa Pura. Their messages emphasized the importance of prioritizing students' well-being. The program continued with engaging and interactive activities facilitated by Global Surge and GPro Ministry Event. These activities encouraged students to actively participate while reinforcing the significance of making positive and responsible choices. The participants were also entertained by an interpretative dance presentation and a magic performance.

A significant part of the seminar focused on mental health awareness, where students were provided with insights into the importance of recognizing and understanding their emotions. The discussion also highlighted healthy ways of coping with stress and challenges, as well as the importance of seeking guidance and support from trusted individuals when needed. The discussions served as a reminder that every member of the school community has a role in promoting a safe, inclusive, and healthy environment.

The activity concluded with a series of worship and reflection activities, followed by a prayer. This provided the students with an opportunity to reflect on the lessons and values shared throughout the program and to strengthen their commitment to making positive choices.

A Sanctuary of Hope: BSHS Holds Holy Mass for Faith and Healing

โ€ŽOn July 26, Buting Senior High School, in collaboration with the Supreme Secondary Learner Government and the Buting Himig Chorale, hosted a Holy Mass at the Buting Senior High School grounds. The purpose of this Mass was to promote the students' emotional and psychological healing during times of hopelessness. The Eucharistic celebration commenced as Rev. Fr. Marvin Baylon opened the Holy Mass with a heartfelt opening prayer for the student body. Students then engaged in a profound liturgy led by Rev. Fr. Marvin Baylon, where they learned about the influence of "evil spirits" on the well-being of an individual. The priest shared practical ways to overcome the work of these spirits while developing one's spiritual connection with our Heavenly Father. Through the discussion, the Holy Mass not only enlightened BSHS students with insightful guidance on the appropriate course of action when facing difficult situations but also gave them inspiration that lifted up their spirits.
