ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 20

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 20, 2026:

📍 National Capital Region (NCR)
📍 Abra
📍 Benguet
📍 Ilocos Norte
📍 Ilocos Sur
📍 La Union
📍 Pangasinan
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Pampanga
📍 Tarlac
📍 Zambales
📍 Batangas
📍 Cavite
📍 Laguna
📍 Rizal
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes and learning continuity measures at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Ito ay kaugnay ng kasalukuyang sitwasyon sa Metro Manila, dala ng masamang lagay ng panahon bunsod ng Habagat.

Inaasahang magpapatupad ang mga paaralan ng Alternative Delivery Mode (Synchronous o Asynchronous) sa kabila ng in-person class suspension.

Due to the unpredictable impact of the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), face-to-face classes at all levels shall be suspended tomorrow, August 11, 2026.

This decision was made to prioritize the safety of the learners, teachers and families and to give them sufficient time to address the effects of the continued rains over the past five days.
All classes shall shift to modular or other alternative learning modalities.
