Teach the News

Teach the News It conducted workshops for teachers on how to use the newspaper in the classroom. IIE had a yearly Serial Reading Program (SRP) supported by BENCH.

IIE made lessons and student activity guides available to elementary and high school teachers for a variety of academic skills using the newspaper's contents from 2008 to 2016. It also gave journalism workshops for student staff of school papers as well as teachers who served as advisers of school papers. SRP was a literacy program that serialized stories for young readers in the Inquirer with ready-to-use guides to activities that made use of the newspaper.
