Odyssey: The UA&P Junior College Competition Pool

Last February 22, Rochine Mendoza (26YP, MSCM), Raiza Camahalan (16YP, MSCM), Mica Conde (16YP, MAPE-IRD), and Gabrielle Oliva (16YP, MAPE-IRD) participated in 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱, a Global Public Speaking Challenge where participants had to submit a 1-minute video answering the question: "Imagine everyone in the world is listening to you for one minute. What message or idea would you share, and why?"

Competing against submissions from around the world, these Odyssey participants won partial scholarships to TED Summer School, an international two-week public speaking program.

At our Second Semester General Assembly, we looked back on the waves we conquered last semester and set our sights on the horizons ahead.

With new competitions on the map, this crew is ready to chart an even bolder course. 🚢📍🗺️

Last November 8th and 16th, Andie Pascua (26YP, MAHUM), Zela Munsod (26YP, MSIE), Zeia Alantaol (16YP, MAIM), Lila Coronel (16YP, MSIE), and Raiza Camahalan (16YP, MSCM) participated in UP JMA's MarkEd 360 Summit: a two-day onsite event designed to provide students with an immersive 360-degree learning experience in the field of marketing.

Competing against other senior high school students across the region, the delegation won 1ST RUNNER UP and brought home the Php 5,000 CASH PRIZE. Additionally, Andie Pascua won the Trailblazer Award, a presenter award for the best marketer in the Finals.

Last July, Rochine Mendoza (26YP, MSCM), Andie Pascua (26YP, MAHUM), and Tiffany Tan (26YP, MAIM) participated in the John Locke Institute Global Essay Competition. The delegates were tasked to write and submit an essay based on a prompt in a chosen field, such as Politics, Psychology, and more.

Competing against 63,328 other students worldwide, the three were shortlisted for their submissions. Additionally, Andie Pascua (26YP, MAHUM) received a commendation award.
