"Early in the year, the young and passionate group of RE-TERRA, headed by architect Kathleen Encorporado, teamed up with the DA to conduct a design competition for young architects. Congratulations to Jan Mark Vargas of Team 1013 - Sibol for winning the Sustainability Award!

According to East West Seed, Project Sibol best demonstrated sustainability with their successful integration of community involvement, and traditional and modern vegetable production techniques in their design. They also appreciate how this proposal is easily scalable and replicable to different parts of the city.
